I don't know from where you've heard that the 9104D has a bad reputation.Audition it.Its supposed to be pretty good.also even if its not equal to the 9103D it'll still be better than other amps in the price band.

go and audition one and then post up.remember how you've changed choices and the truth has come out about a lot of stuff.

by the way which subwoofer are you planning to feed with this amp (not decided yet) and as for the 9104d it can handle 2 sub woofer easily.

kenwood states 900 @ 2Ω and 450 rms to each sub is enough to shake your world.

Review on KAC-9104D

This amp has been discussed earlier in some thread don't remember exactly which one.
Have done a lot of reading on this amp and come to conclusion reading from various forums is that this amp is overrated. Truly it is a great VFM no doubt about it. It sounds clean for its price.
Here's a review on it.
May be this would help you.

Well Karan I just said that based on what I read during my research on this amp plus what caraudiomag says about it. Even Crutchfield.com had confirmed with me on this. They too accepted it's overrated.
I strongly believe that any product should satisfy one in a particular budget one has, it should be worth the price in the end. And I suppose Kenny does that. Even if it produces 700RMS or so, it's still good for the price I suppose.

oh you took me wrong, was just kidding.
i agree with you there are possibilities that this amp is overrated, but again will be a good buy at the price it comes at.

No not at all bro, I know you were kidding
I am one of those who does a lot of research on a given product as having a audition to the not so common product is difficult. Well that's just me
By the way what's the price of one of those?

Well frankly other than the super expensive genesis and all, all other amp are generally over rated.the kenwood stated to put out 900 if it even gives 600 would be good for its price. This goes for amps in this price range.Sony,Pioneer,Jbl etc.

haan. but then for the application it wouldnt be fine. this time chiragh needs something that does 900. he already has something that does 600 (his 1004!!!). so the 9104 wouldnt be much of an upgrade.

there is one more brand that i had used which is underrated and that is tru technology, or you can say they do what they say, not like other so call hi end amps which stated 2000/2500 and can't even do 1500.

And that amp was too small for massive 2 GZ subs !!

he is selling Audiobank cause he is moving abroad !!

i don't no whether this is a amp problem or gains are not set accordingly or the enclosure is not made properly. and no the amp is not to small for the subs as they can take upto 1kw power and the amp is rated as 1.5 kw @ 2 oh so 750 wrms is sufficient for them. but how he was using it.

no i don't think that is the reason he selling it.
