Keep the HU.
The carputer may not put out a 6V signal to the amp.
Connecting the PC audio output to the HU is an acceptable trade-off for the sake of flexibility that you will get. Wouldn't affect quality of sound on the road.
But keeping the HU means I have to find a different location for mounting the touchscreen. I was thinking of mounting it in the double din in a slightly tilted angle facing up.
which power supply is that?
where did you source the lcd from and for how much? a double din adapter would have helped in a easy install and neat look.
can you place the HU in glove box by fabricating a overhang mount or something?
The Power Supply is from Pico Psu. This one here.
picoPSU-150-XT 12V DC-DC ATX power supply
Gigy, all parts were sourced from the US. Paid 175$ for the touchscreen. I think the glovebox will not accomodate the HU, will try it tomorrow.
Just started the setup process. Ran into trouble straightaway. The MB is not responding. Will have to check out with the local guy.
did you check pc operation before installing in car or is it still on test bench?

I am very sorry for this delay. Yes, I still have not concluded this setup even though I was inches away from the same. I still have all the equipment that I bought. Things personal and otherwise has meant that I could not spend even a minute on this project. It is still my dream though, I am not giving this up and will certainly do it on this same old esteem, I will. :)
