Installation Advice - Innova getting ICED!!

Hello All

After following plenty of threads in this forum, I decided to buy JVC KW-AVX 820 and bought it as well. Now that I am so excited to change my stock cd player I called Shinrai toyota in Worli to get the job done (I bought my vehicle from them). They are asking for 5000 Rs for just the labour charges. All other required material will be separate expenses!!! I never thought it is so expensive.
Is it the right quote?

no way thats waaaay to high. if your travelling all the way to worli you can go to a place called bharat audio 2 mins from shinrai in the same line as the audi dealership more towards seaface.

you dont need to go to a toyota dealer just to change the hu.

That's their polite way of refusing you. Whoever sold you the unit could have got it installed for you. Just make sure you keep looking over their shoulders so that they don't cut/join/tape wires instead of using the right harness adapter.

Exactly. First thing he told me was that they don't do this kind of jobs and then this horrible labour charge if I insist. He also did not forget to mention about warranty issues if any thing goes wrong! I'll have to pay for damages, nothing will be covered.

I would definitely try Bharat Audio. I just wonder if I have to make an appointment or just drive in. (I don't have their contact no.) How long will it take to do this job?

Any other precautions should I take besides looking for proper adaptor.

DerAlte

I bought this unit from UK so I've to do it from someone in Mumbai.

Finally I got it done. JVC dvd receiver is fitted in place of stock player. I got this done at Bharat Radio Worli. It was done way cheap than what Shinrai Toyota quoted me!!
Well, I even changed my speakers, not hi fi ones but the new sound quality is definitely above my expectations.

Nice HU, It is an absolute VFM package. How much did you pay for this?

Thank you all. It is indeed VFM package. I did consider Alpine W505 and Clarion 688RBT but paying that high cost without BT was not my choice. I did not like the idea of using separate BT adaptor.

HU :- JVC KW-AVX820 35000/- Rs.
All four door component speakers Sony XS GT16202S 6" 2 way 260W 4400/- pair.
Amp :- JVC KD AX 3300 2 Ch. 3500/- Rs
Rear camera 1500/- Rs

The HU looks neat, very impressive. Are the wallpapers customizable? How fast is the Ipod connection?

I'm looking forward for a review on this HU. I think this is the one with 6V pre-outs.

Thanks Jaya
I was not ready to compromise the space at the rear of Innova to fit 10/12" Sub. When I saw the box that goes it there, I would rather keep that space free for my long haul travel.
You are right, I miss the sub now.

I am not able to connect N95 with my JVC via bluetooth. When I try to pair new device, JVC asks me to enter PIN but then nothing happens. It says open and stays like that. I don't find any option on N95 to search for BT devices. What am I missing here?

Search (there is a Google search method now on TBHP) for the install done with 8" (?) subs - 2 of them - under the front seats of an Innova. Maybe you could do the same.
