No $240 is excluding shipping.
For some strange reason 8" widescreens are significantly more expensive than 7" widescreens, may be because there are so few.

The screen has arrived. I wish brightness and contrast were better. Touchscreen glare is also significant. Nothing unexpected though.
This is what you get for this much money.

Fortunately in Civic it is still readable even in bright sun light, though colours get washed out. Pics below (in real life it looks much better than the pics).

Sorry pics didn;t load will have to resize them to post!

I too am working on a carputer project for swift. Would like to know how you are getting stuff shipped to India? Will you get warranty if you ship it to India? or is it better to get stuff from Car PC Systems | Vehicle Infotainment Solutions | iRide Technologies, Mumbai, India ?

A good sound card will have a good filtering stage to take care of the noise.

I have not ordered any PSU yet, but was planning to order OPUS 360W DC-DC.
IMHO, this will be money wasted. The Xonar has excellent characteristics when used in your average computer with your average PSU. It is built for such an environment. I don't see how getting another PSU will do any tangible good to your setup.

Can you post some pictures of your screen? How did you manage to fit it? Does it fit in the dash kit?

Strange! Which model of Xonar are you using? Other than the Xonar U1 (which is powered from the +5V line of the USB), all the others seem to be powered from the PCIx 5V pins. The cards don't even seem to have a socket provision for accepting external 5V.

That's a problem. Most of the stuff that is available in India, I am buying here.

Initially I was planning for Asus Xonar D2X, however due to size constraint I have bought Asus DX. I haven't got the card with me yet. Refer to the card specs below about power connector

http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1...15&modelmenu=1
System Requriement: One available 4-pin power cable from PC’s power supply unit

http://techreport.com/articles.x/14500/2
"And despite its diminutive size, the DX still requires auxiliary power from a four-pin floppy connector."

Your earlier installer should be able to get this for you. I got mine from him.

1. What all came in the box
2. Tubelight glare
3. Tubelight glare and hand reflection
4. This is where it will go in the car (in double din dash panel)
5. Centrafuse view from Drivers seat, very much readable in fully sunny day (this is 50% contrast & 50% brightness, stock settings)
6.Some video playing
7. Side view - this is the angle at which screen will be installed in the dash

Note: In real life screen looks much better, in pics it looks more washed out than in real.
