Eclipse CD7200MKII Preout 8V

Hi Gurus...

I read that the Eclipse CD7200MKII has a pre-out voltage of 8v. Now amps like JBL 75.4 have a max input voltage of 5.8V. So does this mean that the Eclipse CD7200MKII is not compatible with JBL 75.4 ??

Thanks in advance

i have a 7200MKII paired with 2 amps, one which has a max input sensitivity of 4V only, and the other, which has a max input voltage sensitivity of 7V. both amps have their gains turned down to almost zero (the 7V one is slightly turned up, since the fronts have to blend with the rears well).
worry not about that banter. just make sure you dont turn your gains too high up and you will be a happy man..
by the way, very good choice of head unit ;-)

Thanks.. Actually was deciding on the clarion DXZ 785 but then heard about this and realized not only is it supposed to be better than the 785 but also has bluetooth.. :-).

But I still dont know how much it costs in Mumbai and availability.. any ideas on those. I currently have the following setup:
JBL GTO 75.4 amp
JBL GTO 607c - front - powered by amp
JBL PS552 coax - rear - powered by HU
JBL CS 1204B Sub - powered by amp

I plan to add one more amp for the SUB and then power both the front and rear from the 75.4 amp. I will not be changing the amp and the sub, but i plan to upgrade the front comps and rear coaxs... with something that will match the Eclipse .. any suggestions ?

Hey thanks for the pointer... but what happens to the amp if it does receive more that its max limit, does it simply clip in the input or does it blow a fuse.. to be more specific what will happen in case of JBL GTO 75.4 ??

Nitrous.. thanks for the price indicators.. will speak to FM Drive tommorrow regarding availability and pricing in Mumbai as of now.

Any suggestions on Comps for the front that will go with this.

Absolutely nothing. Take my word for it.

Turn the amp all the way down to 6V input and you will be perfectly OK.

Thanks Sam..

I am also looking for good Comps to replace my current JBL GTO 607c, but i dont like the highs to be tinny, loud or over powering,... I am not sure if this was how the 607s were or just a problem of tuning the amp ??

jinu, if you find treble on a higher side.. just make use of the eq in your HU and you'll be all set!

Well found out that the Eclipse 7200 MKII is available in Mumbai with B&W for Rs. 44k from Preethi Trading company, Mumbai.

I was reading reviews of the 7200 and found the following complaints:

1. Display is very bad. Visibility issues in daylight.
2. Another common complaint is that the HU user interface is very complicated and not easy to use.
3. USB implementation Poor. File/Folder/Album abbreviated to an extent that renders its display useless.
4. No List function to browse thru folder/songs on USB drive

So comments please.. for me most of my listening will be from USB drives.

Also would appreciate suggestion for Comps that would go with this HU

I dont know how to explain it.. its not that the treble is high.. its to sharp, tinny.. I have kept treble at 0. If i reduce it, the high frequencies just disappear making the track sound dull.

The 7200's pre-out level can be trimmed so as to not exceed the amp's sensitivity range.
