Confused with HU, Help me again please, Need a Good HU, 10K Most

As the subject says, I badly need a New HU.

My current Sony MP3 is CRAP now,
I am fed up burning/changing/Ejecting cd's. and
now have to Press the Front Panel before i can do any changes, else it changes album when it should change track, take me to tuner mode when trying power off and such stuff, I know i can clean it do some Desi D.I.Y and fix but i am done with this.
Remote is LOST and I don't like my HU any more. huh

I've Speakers with me, they are 2 pairs of blaupunkt,
Fronts
Rears

My HU requirement is USB a must,
Don't have a IPOD yet. (ipod option is not needed)
don't need bluetooth at this moment.
Will Be Adding a GT4 MKII Amp + woofer in MDF box later.

I don't need to sound BOOM BOOM BOOM, I need crisp sound with TIGHT BASS on low volumes.
Listens mostly to Rock, love, sometimes hindi too.
some popular DJ (English waala bhaiya ji)

Guys Suggest me something with 10K at most.

I might be in Delhi next week or if that plan is canceled, one of my cool friend is coming to town, who can carry HU with a smile.

Perhaps you could ask your Blau dealer for a deal. Try the Hamburg MP57 - should be 10K or less.

Kenwood 6539 or Clarion 785 (if you have sources in US to get it i.e.) is your best bet

DerAlte Ji, Thanks, I just called them
MP57 is Rs.15950/- this includes a pair of oval (6x9 inch speakers) worth Rs.2650/- which can be removed.
so it turns out to be Rs.13300/- certainly not impressive :-(

increase your budget by mere 1.5K to get a 785 through KMD route! else PM DocG, a member here. May be he has some.

I get a feeling he is not playing straight. It is supposed to be 12K, and with good bargaining goes much further down. Check with the dealer in the next nearest town to cross-check.

ghpk, why don't you simply pick up the 6539 posted in classifieds? Just check its features and if it meets your requirements, pick it up- it has good sq that is well documented on these threads.

Panky has a well-groomed habit of suggesting everyone to pick 785 blindly! The sad part is, in a couple of weeks from now I will start doing the same! If you are willing to take undue pains, suffer undue anxiety or go overbudget, then there is no doubt 785 is the best HU to buy for less than 20k. But 6539 at 5k is too sweet a deal nonetheless.

I would say the P80RS and the Alpine 9887 would beat this hands down.

Sorry, but we never did bring in the HUs as Clarion India refused to service them! And that was a problem.

Also for all those who doubt the 785, there is so much untapped power in this little HU, it's just amazing for SQ, and yes, I've heard the P80 and the 9887. I guess it all depends on what you want. The 9887 is amazing with imprint, but wasn't too impressed with it otherwise.

Also the cost to quality ratio is so offset that it's just damn hard for the Clarion not to win amongst these three. The underdog isn't as bad if properly tuned.
