Frank, I just sat in a friend's zen. Below the HU there is a ashtray and you would need a lot of FG work to stuff a 2 DIN HU in that slot. You would have to cutaway some of the dash. I would not recommend it.

Frank was referring to using the OE Fiesta 2 din HU on a Zen.

For got to mention about 2din in zen. One of a friend's cousin had got 2din HU. So clamps were made out of aluminium sheets were used to hold the HU in place. It was okayish finish as the quality of work carried out was below average.

But if you can get a facia made of FG, then its possible.

Navin saar, I have type 2 zen. The ash tray is above the HU slot. There is cup holders way below the din in the console around the gear lever. A gap of 6-8 inches between the din and console below. I am double sure is possible.

thanks for the inputs Navinji.
And yea, shreyas, I have the SAME zen. FGing will be ok, since Ajay will be able to do the Zen.
As of now, there are some nice ovals in the rear. Will continue to keep them and power the rears off the New head unit if it can be installed.
Has anyone thought of the consoles that used to be available before? To fill the gap between the centre console and the gear surround?? Like the ones that came for Maruti 800's of yore?
That would be the perfect solution!

6.5"inch can be retro fitted in ford fiesta, will involve a 3/8"inch 6.5"inch spacer ring, cheeziling off the plastic panel from the inside and splicing a little bit of metal to make space for 6.5"inch,that cutter machine can do the job neatly.

Fiesta Dash-kit is available and the Headunit socket is availabe for anything Rs.100-150/- maxx.can connet to any HU.

Hey Frank, you can any day have the 6.5 fitted in fiesta as i already have one in mine. Just need to use the MDF rings, and bingo, you have it. Don't need to cut or anything.
Do let us know when you have the 1.6S with you. It sure is a beauty. Ford does make lovely cars. I am sure you will love the way she drives as you would love the music coming out of it with all your stuff.
Keep us posted

I will book my car tomorrow morning. It has arrived at the stockyard, and is white in colour and goes by the name of Fiesta S ;-)
The ICE setup for it will be unchanged. Only thing that might be added to the system is extra damping. Oodles of it.
The OE ICE will be installed into the Zen.
If I plan to make any changes to the current configuration in the Fiesta, I will document them. Tempted as I am, I would love to upgrade. But I really don't need to. Because i love the way it sounds.
More on this later! Cheers!

No more Z. Made some changes to some priorities. And figured why buying a mid end version and then having stuff tacked onto it is not a great idea.
I am happy. I saw my baby today. Will get delivery by the end of this month, I think!

Frank(ly) you couldnt have made a better choice

One of my friends bought it(aquarius color) last Aug when it was launched and its the best car to drive.Man,the engine loves to be revved.

I sometimes take it out for a spin and before realising, the speedo reads 120 when normally in the same stretch, swift is around 90.It never gives you the impression its going at 120 and reaches that in no time.

I would have loved to own one although am going for the SX4
