Pioneer with Technics speakers - need advice

I have a pioneer 4050 connected to two JBL GTO speakers (300W). Today we just tried connecting a pair of Technics home audio 3 way speakers with 8 ohm impedance just to see how it faired. The effects where really fantastic with greater audio clarity and mids and highs. But, will it be harmful to the HU in any way? The speakers are from a system that has been withdrawn from service and I am thinking of retaining the set up in the car provided there are no ill effects to the HU.

There will be no harmful effects on the HU. Of course, the HU will not play as loud as with 4ohms speakers. If you don't have the habit of making the HU belt out music at full volume, it is just fine.
