Crossover for JBL GTO507C

Hey guys.

So, I bought a JBL GTO507C from my friend. Un-used, for quite cheap.

Now, the thing is, the Crossover's disappeared in the shipment (God damn DTDC )

So is it possible for me to buy just the Crossovers for them?

Can any decent Crossovers be used with them?
If so which ones can I buy, preferably quite cheap, as I'm pretty much assembling a budget setup here :/..

Thanks in Advance!

Crossovers are generally built for a speaker set, so you wouldn't find general purpose crossovers in the market. The only way is to ask around if anyone has trashed 507 components whose XOs you can get.

Alternately, you could use a capacitor in series with the tweeter for the time being, or use a 1st order XO. Use bipolar polyester / polystyrene capacitors. Use an online crossover designer like this one to calculate the value of the capacitor. Use 4ohms as the impedance and 3500Hz as the lower cutoff for the tweeter.

Frank such XO designs are very basic. They do ot account for any frequency response anamolies, impendace curves (read as Zobel), etc...look at it this was for a car you do not have to worry too much about phase (since the tweeter and woofer are rarely so close and phase will be get messed up anyway) or baffle step compensation as most door mounted woofers are in effect on an IB.

for a more detailed XO design you need to use Clio, Calsod, LspCad, etc..if you have FRD curves for the drivers you can use Jeff Bagby's EXcel spreadsheets they are quite good but you need to contact the driver manufacturer for the FRD curves.

why not ask your friend if still has the XO with him. I dont see how it would have disappeared if packed well.

the other option is to ask a JBL dealer in your neighbourhood.

here is one BHPian with the 507. maybe he can open his XO and get you the details.
