@varriers,
I too have the same model and never checked with the scenario you mentioned. Would test it by this weekend and post the results.
Any updates from Pioneer with regards to the problem.
Somehow i missed reading your thread so long.

Can you please let me know whether it works for you? If so, I will reopen the case with Pioneer once again. Whenever I checked with them they have given me not so convincing answers.... Waiting for your reply

Please do let me know about the speakers that you have with this HU.

Share the pros & cons would be a precise question rather!!
Pros:

1. A value for money if you are not planning to use External Hard disk input

2. Has all most all necessary features like iPod conectivity or any other music player, USB input, SD card and CD reader etc

3.Very good sound output.

4.I am happy customer except that they have disappointed me EHD(External Hard Disk), Though I have mad everything as per the tech specifications provided in the manual, My system does not accept EHD. I am tired gettting touchbasing with the Pioneer folks and they got away every easily.

Cons:

1. The fitting should be proper, else the front panel give away some kind of irritating sound when you hit a rough patch

2. No Bluetooth

3. No EHD compatability thought they claim that they have it. If you purchase it, please make sure that you are trying out a 250 GB HD at the show room.

Shall I go for it or some other models?
Sorry for the delayed reply.. I was off from this forum for sometime as I was swamped with multiple things... I would suggest you to go for better players if you want Hard Disk Compatibility. I am too lazy change my USB time to time for variety of songs....

hey guys, am planning to buy this same HU .
So from what I read, my 16gb usb formatted with fat32 should work well with this.
What about my ipod touch/iphone with os 3.1 update?
I recall having read that some HU's arent compatible with 3.1 update despite claiming to be iphone compatible.

@varriers,
