USB/MP3 player for 2006 Embera

Hi,

I have searched everywhere but not found the info on how to replace the 6 CD changer in a 2006 Sonata Embera with one of the latest USB/MP3 player. Does anyone have any experience in doing or at aleast how to go about it. I have shortlisted a 2006 Embera but I am put off by the current music setup in this car. Appreciate any help here as I have to take a decision on this car soon (else will be going for a used Corolla).

Spoke to a couple of Hyundai Dealers, one of them point blank said it is not possible to replace to original setup. But the other said it is possible. Was suggesting a 2Din Sony HU. But when I told him about the other dealer's answer, he said if I get the car to the showroom, he can tell me within 30 mins if it is possible or not. So, not very confident of this answer. Do any of the Audio gurus have an answer for this problem ?

If you can spend a little i would suggest to look out for a OEM replacement. Not only it will be match your car interiors but will also give a no-headache solution.

THanks for the reply Ashthedivx. Little means how much ? I saw the link you sent, but there was no mention of a HU product for the Sonata Embera ??

The link I sent is of Hyundai Stuff.. Though you may inquire more about the same from supplier.

By little I mean it should be somewhere in 30K-35K territory

It can be done.
Go to some good ICE shop and get the dash kit and HU and you'll be good to go.
You may want to contact Ramie2400 for the same.

Abhinav, thanks for your inputs too. I finally met someone who promised to put a 2-Din MP3 HU and show it to me tomorrow. Will be visiting him tomorrow to see what he can do. The dealer arranged for this and I am raring to see the results. Will post it later. I will contact 'Ramie2400' to see what he can offer.

Saw the HU in place of the OEM. This is how it looked. Too much space around the HU. Harmeet on this forum has offered a installation kit for the Sonata. Looked at it and it looks the correct fit for what I need.
