And today I got a "Top Urgent" marked courier from MICO BOSCH Bangalore containing all the info abt Blaupunkt products with costs and warranties as applicable.

Lemme take a look at them and then decide. If we rule out B&W, how will you guys compare Blaupunkt's Unit v/s Pioneer's (say 5750)

Thank you.

And yes I also wanted to know whether the TEAM-BHP Stickers are still available?

Thanks McLaren
Its just that most of the discussion going around was regarding ISPs and Stuff.
So lemme post miy setup as well !!
I am using an Airtel Corporate Advantage Plan which charges me Rs 99/Month for GPRS (Uploading & Downloading Free) Service. I use it on Sony Ericsson T610 and I spent Rs 600 on a Bluetooth Dongle.

It always connects at 115.2kbps but Actually Its nothing more than that of a DialUp modem, however during Wee Hrs, I get pretty good speed of around 52kbps. Usually it is around 40-44-48kbps.
and yes Its is very very cheap. I even download a lot of stuff using BearShare.

MCLaren, lemme checkout the Blaupunkt's specs, Otherwise I hv almost finalized on Pioneer's 5750.

the 115.2kbps connection is between the PC and the modem (in this case your phone).

I wish Indian cars came with this type of facility - even as an option

thanks for that link. BTW GUYS!!!!!!!!

I want to install an ipod in my wife's sail and my octy. any suggestions. like they say in the restaurant biz, "location. location. location".

a) it should be easy to take out and remove with one (preferably left) hand.
b) it should not get accidently knocked
c) i dont need to see the screen or use its controls as the HU will be controlling it.

Hey polo,

you will find many similar posts but let's do it again. On the 504, connect all 4 speakers in parallel on the front channel. This will not allow you fader control but an even soundstage. On the rear channel, bridge the CS1200T. Then Navin's uncle is your uncle.

Enjoy

I think it's best to leave it inside the glove. Women tend to forget stuff in the car, esp with 3 yr old children. In case she forgets it in the glove, atleast it's not screaming "steal me, steal me"

inside the glove she WILL forget and it will bake or atleast the screen might. atleast it will be out of direct sunlight.

only she will have to lean and bend to get it out everytime. for the sail I was thinking in front the gear shift. i am thinking of installing an idock there. this way she can reach it from before she leaves the car.

the skoda seems to offer fewer options. need a brainstorming session. BTW, Sam, thanks for everything (you know what).

I don't know. I am sure my girlfriend toh will SURELY leave it in the armrest. Then the i-pod will get stolen and (worse) someone will try to break into my car. If it was my girlfriend i would get a string and tie the blooming i-pod round her neck lol.

Navin, thank me when it's done (you know what)

Moderators: Dont think we havent noticed the leniancy this thread gets as far as sticking to topics is concerned. We're obliged and we appreciate your leniancy and we misuse it a little. Apologies heh heh.

the mods have given up on me. they probaly figure "give that senile old man his little palygorund atleast he stops bothering us on the other threads" and besides "he's got those audio guys all fooled /confused and they aren't messing with us car buffs". :-) LOL.

I agree. These moderators have left us here and disappeared.
Focussing on other things, such as engines and tyres and exhausts and all that useless pish-pash.
Then when they feel like smiling (or occasionally feel like buying speakers), they come here to watch the "Navin and Sam show"
