Hi!

The price has not changed. However the models have been replaced with the 7 series (937 and 507C)
There is still good stock of the 6 series and some dealers are offering a discount on MSRP. I think it makes great VFM sense.

GTO sir, could you please suggest a reliable place to buy JBl/other products preferably in south Mumbai? also a good place to get an install done? I got my current one done by some guy in Pune.

BTW, are you the same Sam who ran the JBL/Blaupunkt store at crossroads (Tardeo) a few years ago..in that case i distinctly remember having an hour long conversation with you when a friend of mine had got his ICE setup from there....This was 5 years ago, when i was in the 12th standard.

HI there!

Yes that would be the same Sam who ran a JBL/Blaupunkt store 6 years ago

The best person to ask, where you can buy any JBL, is the area sales manager Firoz. His number is 9819850106. Tell him your from TBHP.

well, I finished installing the 9831 and The iPod interface, HK Drive and PLay.

Sounds great!! And now I'm gonna give my older HU and 6 CDMP3 changer to my girlfriend.

Here's a romantic tip for all my men, guaranteed results.

Borrow your girlfriends Esteem.
Throw away her JVC HU and fit an Alpine HU with a 6 CD/MP3 changer, load it up with 6 MP3 cds. Each track should be atleast 256kbps and each cd should have a theme. (Slow romantic, 70's, Dance, Hindi etc)
Leave a little post it on the dashboard explaining what you've done when you drop the car back and leave the keys with the watchman.

Go home and wait.Results guaranteed!!

Can someone clear this up for me:
Is infinity a part of jbl,i.e their higher end products? or is it another brand under the same parent company? or are they totally unrelated??

these r different brands under same company Harman kardon.
Infinty is supposed to be the SQ version while acc. to others JBL is its SPL sibling.

And our one of guru,Sam is in charge of its Indian branch i suppose.

See Sam I really think that the Drive and Play is a great product since it allows for ipod styly control and has a screen that allows you to see more. However if they had only built these 2 units into a 1 DIN product it could have neatly fit below your HU (or you could move your HU to the lower slot and install the Drive and Play above it).

Obviously once they did that I would want the tilt screen that Alpine has. In fact I wish Alpine's tilt screen allowed for a right-left tilt as well.

Sam represents Harman Intl. Harman Intl owns a lot of brands incl JBL and Infinity. Infinity speakers can produce aboout the same SPL as JBL but have different sonic signatures.

If one ever listens to any Infinity IRS one would realise ti can rock with the best.

Navin, The entire reason for that screen is to keep your eyes on the road as much as possible. This can only be achieved by placing the screen at eye level. In fact the recomended position is this:

I chose to mount it lower, so as to not attract attention when the car is parked.
