since you have a sub doing the bass bit just leave them in sealed boxes.

i dont know how many of you have noticed this.when a powerful sub is playing you can easily feel the bass sitting in the car but do your ears pop at the same time (the way they do when one ascends/descends altitudes)

the other day i was sitting in an alto with a bass tube and music was played loud i could not only feel the thump in my body but also for some wierd reason could feel air coming from behind.im guessing this is the air released from the port. i guess this was what was affecting the ears. is this badd also does this happen in bigger cars with the sub/tube in the boot.im guessing it doesnt because the air wont have a direct path to reach you.

why no answer guys ?

the air is genrated from the port when the sub moves.....the air is moved when sub-low freq are reproduced but in normal music which is above 40hz it is a rare to get that air movement....to feel the bass a bit higher freq are used like 50-70 hz which we can also feel when in high values....

@lancerMania. The question you had asked was once discussed in detail in the forum. Search for it. You'll find a lot of suprises in store.

Why would I need a mono and a 4-ch amp? Your options are very clear.

Sam, thanks. What is the Crutchfield page?

As you have suggested, I would go for the 3-way system..

And i love that sound. She feels like she will eat up everything in front of her!

And if you feel I need a new thread, as suggested by Gunbir.

a) mono amp for sub, 4 ch for front and rear. However on a budget and since you are not having rear speakers you can use a 4 ch. amp and bridge 2 channels for the sub. A big amp like the JBL 75.4 would b better at this than smaller amps like the Pio 6100 (then again a 75.4 costs almosttwice as much as the 6100) so you can start wth the 6100 (at 7K).

b) The Contessa is one of the few cars that can accomodate a 3 way system However it might require some serious ammount of work on the door (upholstey) please let us know if you have access to this and the budget for it.

c) Th growl of the 1.8L ISUZU engine is great but as far as perfromance is concerned the game has moved on. Relatively tinny sounding engines like the OHC Vtec or even the Octavia RS provide much better performance esp given the fact that they are mated to better trannys, brakes, tyres, etc...

d) You have as much right to start a thread as anyone else. You do not need my permission or Gunbir's or anyone else's. This is public (NON COMMECIAL) forum.

Moral of the story is that your capacitator is probably incapacitating your system, and that Amaron and Optima are owned by the same company Amara Raja, and even Amara Raja somehow tells us that Optima is a better battery.

hey bass&trouble optima batteries is made in USA in colorado and amaron is just distributer for india and optima batteries are costly rs 11000 for 45 amps

i got amaron hi life pro 65 amp for rs4500

and amaron has more cranking power at all the temprature....

You know amps are cycles for hours battery can with stand.....optima is good for when the car engine is off and you want loud music it has deep cycles but amaron has shallow cycles it is not good when engine off and loud music but has more efficent power when engine is on................ i didnt get incapacitating what is that exactly......

Hi Chip,

I was comparing the two batteries from a car audio standpoint only.

Optima is good when engine is off, is right. But the correct interpretation is, Optima is good when the current draw is greater than the charging rate. This scenario is faced even when the engine is running, and driving a powerful system like yours, supported just by a stock alternator. Your battery is amongst the better ones of the standard batteries.

The other part was just about the Boss capacitor, or any other capacitor for that matter. Since you understand batteries, I think you understand capacitors also, and perhaps realize that they are almost worthless when the music system is played at high volumes. Plus, Boss not enjoying such a great reputation for car audio products. Some other members have had bad experiences using Boss. Some have discovered excessive sand in the caps (I understand it IS a dielectric)

Moral of the story really is, your enjoyment is what really matters, and its nice to hear you have a great distortion free system.

Hey check out my boot of civic been civilized

Very cool chip. Nice system, glad you are happy with it.

Optima is a far better battery, more expensive for sure, but much better than your amaron. Unfortunately from what I heard, Amaron doesn't import it anymore.

Hi Sam,
Just posted a new thread on speaker upgrade for a Reva Classe.
Would appreciate advice from somebody as knowledgeable as you.
Thanks

A simple Skoda install I saw on Orkut:

Now, in the last pic, is that a HU sitting on top of the CD Changer?
