Akbaree, I honestly suggest you stop spending money like this. What you've got so far is very good.

Remember a god installation and tuning will change the sound. Please look at the recent advice I gave JPL - it will almost apply to you.

Stop spending money on new equipment and go to a good installer with an idea of what you want. Read this post #6419 thoroughly.

True and honest. I had never imagined that I would be happy with the existing setup(speakers). Only complain were the speakers that I had. Today I tuned them for some bass and still the output is smooth( need not pusch the vol, the output is warm and complete and low volumes=pleasure. I really now understood the importance of tuning the amps to your taste.

Thanks again Sam, I will stay with my current speakers for a while and enjoy them and try to squeeze out the best possible from them :) .

Thanks Sam for your valuable inputs. I know sometimes I spend unnecessarily. I was going thru some threads on this website and was able to find Auto Fusion reference. I spoke with Thouqeer. I will be taking my car to this outlet for tuning. Even he told me the same thing.

Thanks again for your inputs.

Hi Sam - I was reading the post 6419 as suggested. My CS60.4 has two channels in the subwoofer. Should the setting for this be same as you have suggested for CS300.1. Moreover how I bridge the two channels for my subwoofer on CS60.4?

Hi, I am looking for an ICE setup for to be bought Fusion. I love lisening good quality music (I love to install Bose ICE if exists & fits 30 to 40K budget, hope this explains :) ). I am looking at good HU with speakers & tweeter. Also iPod connectivity is very nice to have. Please advice. Thanks, Vanchi

:Shockked: and

You have opened a can of worms. Bose is not considered very good quality by many. THere is better, much better available.

that said for 30-40K you can get a very nice system.

The Fusion has odd sized speaker slots (6x8) for the front and rear. So your choices are either to get your installer to make a custom baffle for a 6" or to use 6x8" speakers (limited selection).

I would spend 8K on wires and damping and 32K on a HU, Amp and speakers BTW are you willing to sacrifice trunck space for a sub? What kind of music do you listen to? How loud?

sample budgets. The gurus will chip in with model numbers.

HU: 8K
Amp: 11K
Front and rear coax speakers: 7K
Sub: 6K
Damping front doors and hatch: 6K
Wires: 2K
----
40K

if you dont want a sub...
HU: 9K
Amp: 11K
Front component and rear coax speakers: 12K
Damping front doors and hatch: 6K
Wires: 2K
----
40K

I prefer to not have sub. Is it safe if I choose other that the standard size provided (6X8)? I think this will depend on installer also right?

I beg your pardon, but if you may not know, There are many Bose haters here including your's truly.stupid:

Hertz ES300D Subwoofer
JBL GTO 75.4 4channel amp (Speakers)

JBL 60.4 amp (sub) 2channels bridged and powering each coils of the sub.
Speakers powered by the HU.

JBL 60.4 4channel amp (Speakers)
JBL 60.4 4channel amp (sub) 2channels bridged and powering each coils of the sub.

Zak! That post looks like a Hertz Advertisement! That too without prices. For what I can tell you did not cover damping, wires or install and still overshot the budget by a fair bit.

Vanchi, in your budget good HUs to listen to are Pioneer, Blaupunkt Kenwood, Clarion and the base Alpines

Speakers: Hertz, JBL, Blaupunkt, and Infinty.

If it is was me I would take a Alpine HU, JBL 4060 amp and Infinty speakers but I would suggest you listen to Hertz Energy and Blau Thx as well. besides only JBL and Blaupunkt have 6x8" speakers that I know of.

In addition to the above post,
Kicker compos are fitted in the door panels, tweeters near the a-pillar.
Rear I have 6x9 Triaxials. Only one amp GTA4 is driving the front and rear speakers. Plan to go for Sony 502z with JBL 1200 Sub a bit later.
So the question I have is how to tune the amp for that perfect note.
Also anyone heard the kicker comps? I can excahnge it for some other brand if required.

Regards,
Mainak

You just follow the connection markings on the 60.4. There is no physical switch to bridge, you just connect the speaker wire a little differently.

Almost the same setting as the 300.1, however, the 300.1 has a permanent LPF on, hence no switch. You will have to put the switch to LPF and then select a frequency.

And you're very welcome.

Tricky. The octavia actually does accomodate comps both in the front and rear (using the chota jaggahs where you open the door)

Unfortunately, the tweeter then sort of fires at the elbows of the rear pax.
The advantage of using a 5.25 co-ax in the rear pod is that due to the angle of the glass on the notchback, you can actually hear some of the reflected highs upfront.
I'd say, 6" compos front, 5.25 high power coaxs in the rear and some enclosed sub. Tube or box, depending on the kind of sound you like. I actually have some Killer photos of one of our Octavias. But no clue how to show you these.

Hey Sam

What do you suggest for my palio nv 1.2. I have 2 speaker slots (somewhat oval) in the front doors and the very like at the back. The car came with the cardboard tray at the back. i would not like to spent more than 12 K and prefer speakers at the back only.

I listen ti hindi /punjabi and soft rock most of the times. which car audio brand do you suggest.

lol where did you dig up this old post from. How embarassing.

Welcome to the ICE section!

Kapil, you will find your answers here
All brands are good. As long as they a look, sound and feel good to you and you can afford them.

HU's from Clarion, Panasonic, Blaupunkt, Alpine, Pioneer (everyone's favourite), JVC and Sony are good.
Sony features last on the list of preferred speakers. Not too popular in quality HU's too.

Generally specialist companies like Polk, Boston, Illusion and many, many more make better speakers than the brands listed above. If you can afford a specialty speaker, nothing like it.

There are many specialty brands, that are constantly being discussed in this section. Do a bit of reading.
