It suits my use too as I will be using only my iPod to play music apart from using the tuner for FM. I have a couple of concerns on which I need your expertise and help
- in the specs it just mentions 2V/2 Channel pre-out.
- does this mean that I get only one pre-out?
- if that is the case then is this enough for me to have a good ICE Setup with compos in the front and SUB powered by an AMP
- Can a good system be suggested; budget 15K for amp, compos and sub
It has 1 pair of pre out. That usually mean that only the sub can be powered by the amp. however you can use a speaker level to line level converter if you want to use an amplifier for the front as well.

a good amp (7K), components (7K) and sub (7K) would cost you about 20-21k without wires, damping or install.

@Navin, thank you for the prompt reply.

One more quick question the FB276BT has a built in 50W x 4 Channel Amplifier. Would that be sufficient to power a good compo like the JBL GTO series or the Blau Thx series??

Every HU comes with a built in amp. The rating of 50W x 4 should be the peak ratings and RMS readings would be around 18-20W x 4. Which means the compos will not be able to put out their good potential capabilities when powered from it.

the HU amp is not 50 x 4 . it is in order of 15-20 watts with loads of distortion in it. If you plan to play it loud then go for a amp else HU amp is fine.

Thank you speedzak and LBM.

as Navin pointed out Since I have only one Pre-out, I could use a speaker to line level convertor to power the amp for the compos too. How badly will audio clarity suffer if I do this? Or is this not very lossy?

Also how bad is it a choice to go in for a single pre-out HU. I dont mind going in for a different alpine/clarion HU with 3 pre-outs. But I chose the FB276BT for the features (BT integrated in to the HU and comes with an external mic) also iPod direct control. But I like to listen to good clean music, hence dont mind sacrificing on the features.

Some more help please!

Thank You.

Ouch! that does man that your speaker is damanged. You now need a multimeter to make sure.
Since I couldnt find a multimeter (or having no idea what to do with a multimeter) a couple of days back I gave my sub for repair at Harman showroom.
A few minutes back got a call from the service guys confirming a dry solder problem and I gave a go ahead to fix the same.
The sub shall be back with me within 4 days.
Shall keep you posted.

Is there a better way to cut off metal from a car door to fit component speakers than use of a hammer & chisel? Thanks in advance.
