Go ahead and buy them. Bangalore is the best place for car stuff anyways. Buy them and carry them there.

I would just like to point out something with regards to Aseems head unit post. It is very informative, thanks aseem.
But no Head unit is really better than the other. it is always a question of taste and budget.
Yes I agree, we are a little partial to Alpine here, because of the sweetness, but i still re-iterate, there are people that prefer JVC to Alpine and I respect that.

Also once again I would like to point out that we (I mean Navin and I) are totally against the purchase of ANYTHING without a bill, warranty and backup service.

I am thinking of some good 6 inch component speakers for the front( jbl)...but do they need a seperate amp ? or the sony 5510 hu amp would do..?

for the rear - to begin with i am confused..
- should i just replace the current speakers with other 6 inch ones ? which ones ? components again

My budget is 10k for the speakers + amp..HU has already been purchased..
Component speakers start from 3k and go all the way upto 1 lakh Rs. Below is a list of 6" components you want to consider in your budget:

1) JBL 6" component : 5750 Rs with warranty and bill. Great buy, little bright. If your choice of music is R&B, than go for it.

2) Boston Accoustics FS60: 5300 Rs with warranty and bill. Sweeter on sound, lower on quality and brand name than JBL.

3) Boss Components: 3000 Rs. Not recommended, but sound great for the price. But the quality of components is very cheap as opposed to JBL.

You would need to have a 4 channel amp to drive the speakers and the tube. Below are the set of options:

1) Sony 504Z: 4k without bill and warranty. You can bridge 2 channels for the tube, and connect the other two channels in parallel with the 4 speakers.

2) JBL CS 50.4: 9.5k with bill 7k in Gray. This amp is only suitable to drive the speakers. You would need a mono block Sony 502Z for 2.5k to drive the tube in this case.

So here is the final budget:

Sony 504Z: 4k
Components: 5.5k
Wires: 500Rs

Let the party begin!

Yes my choice of music is R & B ( Rap & Bhangra )

What should the Sony 5510 HU amp power --> the front components ?

If i go for components..wouldnt my budget overshoot ?

ie, 5 k for front..5 k for rear...+ 4 k for the Sony amp..+ 500rs for the wires..

any set up recommended in 10k ..

for 10k, buy the sony 504 amp, one set of components and one multiaxial speaker. Forget the sub for now. Thats what i would do.

Considering your choice of music, here is the setup I recommend. (Sam I need JBL commision )

1) JBL 606E Components for the front: 5.75k with bill
2) Any rear Co-axials/Triaxials: 2k (JBL GTO 636---3.5k lil over budget)
3) Sony Amp 504Z + Wires: 4.5 k

5.5 + 4.5 + 2 = 12 k.... Or you can add the rear co-axials later, or go for cheaper components like Boss for 3k.

would you recommend Boss. Thought you prefered JBL to Boss since they are priced the same.
paharino1, why did the company fitted speakers rattle. maybe if we can solve that rattle you can live with them til you can afford the 636.

I liked the sound of Boss, however I was overcharged for them. They retail at 3k without bill. So I went ahead and replaced them with the JBLs. The JBLs anyday have much much better components that go in to making the speaker. They can also handle high volumes easily, the Boss used to crack a little. However what I dont like about JBL (or not yet) is that they are a little too bright for an old bloke like me. At Parhino and Sam's age, I would strongly recommend them. Even I will begin to like them eventually, however the peace of mind I have now is that I was not overcharged. Personally I liked the sound of Sony components as well, but I have come under a lot of criticism when I recommend them.

The year you were born has nothing to do with how old you are. Its the wisdom I have collected over these years through experiences in various continents, cultures, guys and gals, folk etc. I feel like 50 years old man with tons memories in the baggage I carry. I am no longer in my prime like you guys seeking attention and trying to impress folks with your radios and R&B. I just like the music that touches my soul and makes me remind me of my golden years when I was like you guys.
