Went to Poona motors today. Not ready to advise much unless i bring the car to him and assure to fit it from him. He says there are many things and he cannot waste time explaining me the stuff...
He gave me approximate quotes as under and said will finalize once i decide to fit it.

Pioneer HU(3050/5050) - Rs7000 - 8000 - 9000
JBL Components 607 - 2000-3000
Spacers - 200
He mentioned that theres something new coming from JBL for components under G5 series and will be cheap as well.
He also mentioned that Alpine has no USB option.

He finally said you get the details of what you want and he will give me the quote.

Technocrat i still need to go to Bafna motors but i dont know where its located in Pune.

I dont know where to go from here. Its all on you Gurus to help me further.
hi tush. i am also from pune. i would suggest u to look for many shops before landing up your decisions to buy from anywhere. i have observed that in pune the accessories shops are scattered everywhere and the rates differ to a large extent. i did the same thing for almost 1 week and got the lowest quotes.
there is one more good shop known as Siddhi Car Accessories, on JM road near the modern school. he also owns a adjacent shop Riddhi Car Accessories in the same lane. they have very good installers. the prices are also good.

had the JVC player and the amp installed yesterday, and only thing ive realised is that the sony xplods at the rear are crap

so will be replacing it with the ever popular JBL 937s or the Illusion EL693. whichever is cheaper

am confused about the front door though, should i go with coax or compos? a decent pair of coax will cost me about 1500 bux, which is the cheapest decent components that i can buy? the zen front door can take 5 1/4" using spacer, although i wudnt mind fitting only a 4"er there if its affordable

also, a decent 8" sub or a tube sub, which is better? any models to look for? and price?

finally, about 1k for sound dampening the doors, which material is recommended?

thanks in advance.

Thnx for the reply amit..

I will check that shop but i am still getting the information from GURUs for which brand HU and which set of speakers are best combination for swift.

My budget is 20k and i majorly listen Rock Music. Also listen Dance numbers and Indian Oldies, casually also listen to hip hop.

Thnx,
tush.

For your budget, Pioneer will have the best VFM HU's, also try Kenwood, but please avoid Sony.

HU: Pio 6950
Rear Co-ax: JBL 937
Front: JBL Components
Good wiring kit

All the above should come within the 25K budget.

937 would be for parcel tray, but i am planning only door options.

Regarding JBL components will 607 or 507 fit the front doors ?
How would be blau for speakers ?

hi mobike,

i thought it would be best to run components with an amp. I have never heard comps without an amp. Let me know if it makes sense as i am also looking out for a new ICE

Blau speakers? Never heard about them. Best is to stick to JBL, Hertz or Illusions

@Mav2000, ofcourse you would need an amp to run the comps. It would be a tight squeeze for a 25K budget, but going by the 937 price some of the folks here are quoting, looks like a 4-channel amp can be squeezed in that budget.

mobike, you've never heard of blaupunkt speakers ?

@mav2000, running comps with an amp is not necessary but will definately provide louder/clear sound.

I did get a chance to listen to the difference with a pair of components with and without amp installed on a rack in the showroom.

Setup was of Sony Xplode.

Comps were connected to both, HU and AMP. The sales person would just press few buttons and it would instantly shift to AMP power allowing one to differenciate it.

This helped me figure out that i can consider installing an amp later if my sound senses are not satisfied with the HU output. And i know they wouldnt be but then fiting an amp in a tight budget is not better then fiting it later with a good budget

Gurus i am a novice user so my comments might not be (techie)appropriate for you all, hence take my appologies in advance.

Tush where do you stay in Pune? we have some variety in ICE in Pune, you can meet any of us & decide on equipment after getting an audition.

Rather than finding a cheap place I would suggest you to go to a decent installer, as quality comes at a price.

PM me if you want
