Usually the work is to monitor others and as I am mostly on this forum, I hv to Stretch a bit everyday and When I stretch I do nothing except work.

So kinda used not to work during shift timings but work overtime and not get paid for it
However I am thankful to my company for providing me with a wireless T1 connection. Cheers !

wireless T1?

T1 is a wired protocol. 24 channels of 64 each +8K = 1.544Mbps
E1 is the equiv. used in India = 30 x 64 = 2Mbps.
T3 is ......ok you get the picture....

Unless you got a wireless rounter connected to a T1 pipe. in which case....ok lets shift this to another forum.

well if ur willing to spend then u can go in for components both at the front and the back and use ur existing amp..but a lot on this thread recommend components on the front and to use rear coaxials as fillers at the back..so u can:
1. go for components for both front and back..
2. use components at the front and coaxials at the back as fillers,along with a subwoofer in the hatch..for this sub its better if u can buy another 2 channel amp and even run the components and the rears through the amp u already have purchased..so take a pick..u got to have 2 amps if ur adding a sub,u can manage to connect the compos,rears and the sub on just one amp but u will loose on fader..so 2 amps are advised..im sure our experts will post their views very shortly,so just wait for their posts..

a 4" in the front and a 6x9 in the back - the 6x9 will drown out the 4" and your soundstage will com from the rear. also i assume the 6x9 would be on a wooden deck of some kind.

what i would suggest is:
get 4" components in the front
get 4" coax in the rear speaker pods (components if you have the budget)
and get a small tube sub behind the rear seat.

this might not be as loud as the 6x9 but ill sound a bit more balanced.

also if you can afford components for the rear get them those speaker pods in the rear have plastic grills that are not good. since you cant really cut the least one can do is get the tweeter installed above the grills (surfance mount) which is possible if you got components.

Clarification: More than one of you has observed that often the words JBL come up in this thread. Well, most of it isn't my doing. JBL is a performance brand and most people that come to this thread are people looking for advice and equipment a cut above the rest. This is the same reason you will find the words michelin or KNN repeated quite often on other threads.
That said, I love the brand I represent. As Mclaren and Ajay rightly pointed out, I suggest JBL often, as I know what goes in making a speaker. I also respect ALL brands that make speakers and have often said "No one brand makes BETTER speakers than another", It's a question of taste and choice and budget.
JBL sells about 9000 sets of CAR speakers a month in India. This apart from home theatre, cinema, computer speakers and what-not.More than 99.99% of JBL customers haven't even heard of Team-BHP. I do not directly gain commercially by suggesting that you buy JBL. In fact, almost always, I have made sure that your dealers margin is reduced, just because you are a team-BHP member. I have often made phone calls and emails across the country, to help my friends here get what they need at a slight advantage. This perhaps is one reason why people on this forum feel a little more comfortable buying a JBL product. Because I'm here.
Why do I do this? Because I love coming to this forum. I love having a little community/fraternity of like minded individuals. people who love SOUND, good sound.I love to learn from people like Navin and Vivek and often, I have even learned from Aseem. Honestly, I come to office every morning and religiously check this thread like I check my emails.
Even if I wasn't working for JBL, my advice would still be the same. Perhaps the assistance I would be able to offer would be limited, but my advice would be similar.

Apology: In my irritation/frustration with certain things Aseem had said, I lashed out and perhaps hit him below the belt. This was wrong and not in the right spirit of things. I'd like to recall my words with an apology to aseem and to the other members of this fraternity. I would hate it if this thread became a sour place to visit. If I wanted to fight all the time, I would have stayed married.

if you got 2 amps (1 4 channel and 1 2/1 channel) make sure of the following:

the 4 channel amp has a high pass network. if so set it at about 120-150hz. connect it to the 4" speakers.
the 2/1 channel amp has a low pass network. set that at 120-150Hz. connect it to the sub.

this will prevent the 4" speakers from overloading.

Sam, I for one do feel oyu have every right to recommend JBL. The reasons are not commercial.
1. When you are helping someone with a system it is very obvious you would feel most comfortable with a brand you work with. you know what the various models can do, what they cant, and even how to modify them as you know their innards. there is no way for anyone to know all the models and prices out there and we are privliged to have someone here who can alteast give us honest suggestions about the Harman International range.
2. JBL makes quality stuff. Often at a very good price point. In my days 90%+ of the studios in NYC (from Record Plant to Electric Ladyland) used JBL and UREI monitors. No brand commanded that respect (headphones for example were divided equally between AKG and SenHeissier).

Hi Guys,

I had previously installed a Sony Xplod system in my car with stock
speakers on the fornt doors and Sony speakers in the rear. I understood later that the stock speakers in the front doors were useless so I got them replaced. Now my front doors have the Sony speakers that were previously installed on the rear and the rear has a new set of Alpine SPS 130A speakers.

BUT I still think the sound is pretty bad especialy the front door ones
which kind of start to distort (and these are sony).

Any comments, suggestions, advise guys

Often we have to recommend some brand just to keep things simple. for example i tend to recommend Sony for HUs under 10K and Alpine for HUs more than 12K. Unless I get more information on the others JVC, Kenwood, and Blaupunkt and unless Pioneer re-structures their marketing strategy in india I dont think this will change. why sony/alpine becuase it keeps things simple. most people are not interested in auditioning 4 brands of HUs with 3 brands of amps and 4 brands of speakers (36 combinations). they want a simple answer. they want my opinion.

alright , so its components for frnt and rear. but, which ones? i prefer jbl and as they r sold here. but is ther a 4inch comp by jbl?

and, rear speakers... i am 2 use components under the grill ? and if so which one frm jbl.

if i am 2 use coaxial, is that 2 go under the rear grills too or back door (which i dont think i will)

@mclaren... if i have enough money will go 4 a second amp for sub as my pioneer aint that powerful .. and would a sony sub do ?

try using the alpines in the front and moving the sony to the rear. then use the fader to move the soundstage to the front.

U bet, buff... I juz listened to my speakers [936e+506e] with the Clarion amp ystr'dy [after persuading my installer that I have to check it out] and it sounded soooo deep and excellent. It juz livens the muzic, if I can call it that. And to think that the guy said the 50.4 would make the sound better than the clarion can...

I can't imagine how my setup is going to sound once I get my JBL 50.4 amp on Satr'dy morning.... Waiting eagerly... for the Saturday...
