Re: Car Audio Advice from the Audio Gurus: Use "Search thread" before posting a new Q!

You will lose out on some deep bass but that's the consequence of going for a smaller sub. But you'll have punchy bass.
Looks like the head unit doesn't have a dedicated subwoofer output, but that's ok, the blaupunkt has speaker level inputs. Use those. The sub comes with a free adapter such as this one

This is the best way. Your installer may say using a high low converter is required or better, which personally i don't agree with unless your are planning to upgrade your head unit to something branded later

I visited the store yesterday and let them know i was not satisfied with the android HU. Also the specifications mentioned before installation didn't align with actual product. So told them i want it to be replaced, to which they agreed.

Just the above reference made me go with a branded product and installed Pioneer DMH-AP6650BT. And i have to say the sound quality has improved tremendously and i don't feel the need of sub-woofer any more. The sound is much more clear, pleasant and has nice thump to it.

From my personal experience I would suggest everyone to go for dedicated music stereo from established brands rather than a android if sound quality is your top priority.

Note: The dealer was trying to convince me to go for another android. But i was very clear with what i wanted this time. From my research i found they have good margins with these chinese androids compared to branded products.

Big thanks to BHPian greenhorn.

Re: Car Audio Advice from the Audio Gurus: Use "Search thread" before posting a new Q!

After many years looking at upgrading audio on my new fortuner . Yet to arrive and preparing the budget and spec for the upgrade .

For now narrowed down to replace the stock hu with pioneer 6550 bt . Comes with canbus and also pre outs . I suppose this would make DSP not a mandatory one .

Need advice on selecting components, amps , subwoofer . Don’t fancy heavy jarring bass . Just the right amount of bass with as much quality as possible within budget.

Looking at a budget around 1 lakh

Background of my prev car audio
My prev exp with gladen audio speakers and mline amps were good ( 2011 Honda city )

Didn’t quite like the signature or focal 165 3 way components . Found them a bit too bright to my liking. This setup was with soundmagus 8 channel dsp and DLS 4 channel amp. Had an MTS sub 12 inch with Acustika mono block ( 2018 XUV 500).
