Oops I had the wrong link now it got the right link so my post abvoe has been changed. Still it was not untill somone recomended the Augies to me that I I even gave that degin a thought. Jamo has those drives custom made for them. Like the Augies they ahve a lift in the LF at about 6db/octave to compensate for dipole cancellation. Jamo sources the midbass from Seas and i think the tweeter is a 2905-9700 or a Seas unit.

The Speaker reads Pioneer KA 340, three way speaker system, 240W. Found it lying inside the cupboard today (Was fitted to the stereo of my old M800, and i thought father gave it away to his relative).

Is it any good? Considering i have 4' speakers in the front of the WagonR, and 6*9 coaxials at the rear with two tweeters up front, can i have any use of these?

Hi Gurus,

I am back (after browsing some stuff) and have more queries now :(

#1: From a listener p.o.v, how does Infinity Ref6012i and Ref6022i differ? The difference from specs. say impendance for 6022i is 2ohms and that of 6012i is 4ohms. The other (minor?) difference is sensitivity: 6012i is 92dB and 6022i is 94dB

#2: Navin sir, you have chosen 6012i for your Mom's car. You have mentioned something about loudness in other posts. Can you please throw more light on the same?

#3: For NHC, is Ref9613i (6x9 co-axials) a direct fit for the rear? Or should I stick to only 6 1/2" models?

I am planning to visit Sound Factor, Bangalore tomorrow for a listening demo on JBL and Infinity speakers (I will listen to the Kappa series as well, but those set might be costlier?)

Sam sir, any additional inputs from you? I had originally planned for GTO607 and GTO637; based on helpful suggestions from gurus that I should listen to a variety of speakers before finalizing, I have expanded my list now. (Why not Kappa? They seem to be a bit on the costlier side.)

The tweeter is a scanspeak revelator 2905/9900 iirc. Recently I had the fortune to listen to this speaker alongwith some really high end mark levinson amplification. The bass is unbelievable. I've never heard quicker/tighter bass ever in my life. I could not believe that 15" woofers can be so quick.

I was also told the tweeter is a 9900 but I have the 9900 as well as the 9700 and 9500 and based on the flange in the photos it looks more like the 9700 than the 9900.

the 9900 flange is 130mm dia and is a bit concave.

Same here, I happen to listen to the same setup and the CD player was of NAD and the amplification was of mark levinson with separate mono for each speaker. the sound was mind blowing fast and accurate but the LOW end was missing a bit....

I hate say but these are fake Pioneers. I would not use them but if you like there sound nothing like it....

Just a simple query. Hows JBL GTO 936 and their price ?

and whats the price of GTO 937 and Pio 2950 as the ICE guy is saying that due to non availability of PIO 2950 the prices have shot up to Rs 3500. any idea about this ??

Boom boom? lol

#1 - The ref 6012i has been discontinued in favour of the 6022i. A comparo is incorrect, because they are at the same proce and the 6022i is an evolved 6012i.

#2 - I personally find the 6022i to be a fantastic evolution and soundwise it is superior to the 6012. NNavin has modified the crossovers to his taste, something that the average listener would not be able to do.

#3 for NHC, the direct fit for the rear is 6" circular.

JBL GTO936 was a very popular 6X9. The technology and sound offered was very good, considering it's price. It was discontinued last year in favour of the 937 which was an evolution and even more popular.

Though the 937 is priced at Rs.4950/- including B&W, it has been known to sell at very competitive prices below that figure.

The CS3196 is a pretty good 6X9. While not as good at the 937, it is an entry level VFM product.
