Audiobahn Amplifier

How good is Audiobahn as a quality brand?

I found a used Audiobahn amp wih following specs:

Audiobahn A2X400HQ 2-Channel High Current Amplifier

Stable down to 1 ohm in bridged mode to drive subwoofers with a blistering 1600 W rms. Detailed Specs are as follows.

Output Power at 12.5V:
2 x 200W @ 4 ohm
2 x 400W @ 2 ohm
2 x 600W @ 1 ohm
1 x 400W @ 4 ohm bridged
1 x 800W @ 2 ohm bridged
1 x 1600W @ 1 ohm bridged
Freq. Response: 10Hz ∼ 40kHz (±1dB)
S/N Ratio: >100dB
Fuse: 4 x 30A
Dimensions: 15.8" x 11.9" x 3.4" (40.1cm x 30.3cm x 8.7cm)

It is in perfect working condition. Ideal for driving components with high power or for very powerful sub.

Being sold for 18K. is it a good deal?
Currently, I am using Hertz Energy compos and ID sub...with Alpine MRV-F340 4-channel amp.

Reason for upgrading amp: To obtain better sound quality.

Bass... there will be some trouble in this thread!

That is a hell of an amp if your going to be driving the woofers to deliver a final load of 1 ohm but in your case you would be running the comps and sub.

He's asking beacuse B&T has put this amplifier for sale in the classifieds.

As regards audiobahn, its an overrated crap.. i've used audiobahn 4 channel 3004T claiming 300 W RMS at 4 ohms. Trust me, sony 222 was louder than that.

I dont know about this specific high end amp.. but seriously feel that you have better options.
