I did not calculate the box volumes of the 2 boxes you you mentioned. All I am saying is that for subwoofers there is a considerable back pressure and so the box should be about 6" deep to absorb the backwave. If the recomended box volume is 1 cu. ft. then stick to it. Just remember that the box volume does not include the space displaced by the subwoofer's basket. So I'd recommend another 0.20 cu. ft. to account for this basket.

I think in case of the GTO 1214 the volume includes the driver displacement, as shown in the attachment by kumar.

Finally I manage to trace carpenter who prepare speaker box and he agreed to prepare it with MDF material of 18mm thickness.

As per the thickness of material the size of box which finalized is 14.5"x14.5"x14 = 1.24 cu ft (considered 0.2 cu ft additional for the driver displacement)

Will be getting enclosure on Saturday.

I got suitable connector (similar to MX) as well which can be fixed to it.

While purchasing the connector I came across woofer cover which can be fitted with clamp from outside for 50 bucks. This cover is same as we see in woofers box which pandal usually play during ganpati festival. Will this hamper the diaphragm movement by or any special precaution required?

Finally today Sub is connected to Amp and its making amazing thump sound. GTO is very strong Sub and while tuning amp it was having huge power to vibrate whole car body.. :D

Accessory dealer tried doing brain wash by suggesting to replace stock rear speaker & HU. I know he was correct and that made me to think in that direction.

Long back I auditioned pioneer, Hertz, Infinity and JBL out of which I could easily make out sound coming from infinity speakers - very good QC.

Now to power new rear speaker I need another amp so not sure whats the price and series of infinity speaker and amp I need to consider so that I can plan vitamin M in near time!

Wow congrats on your new system. Hope you are enjoying the sounds of it.

Kumar good going
could you pleas post some pics of the actual installation

also can we have the actual amount paid for all those components

Thanks Xingy & Shardul!

Costing is as follows -
JBL 608C components - Rs 5.5K
JBL 1004 Amp - Rs 12K
JBL 1214 Sub - Rs 5.5K
Enclosure (18mm) - Rs 1K
RCA/line converter/wiring/installation - Rs 4K

Pics - 608C is inside of front door and I have not clicked while installation.
Amp pics already uploaded in previous page.
The sub with 1214 was looking gr8 and too avoid tension while sitting at front I added mesh grill as shown above. I know the grill covered Sub beauty but I think protection of cone is also important.

Taken with mobile so bare with picture quality

Now with sealed enclosure getting good thump

After replacing component the car was not much vibrating but with Sub all seats vibrates and I can sense that. Even the mirror vibrates a bit but am ok with that but not with seats.

Do I need to go for damping? If yes, then do I need to damp only boot or side doors as well?

Not sure if I damp boot then will it look odd as we all know these days every now and then we need to open boot for security inspection?
