jk...what exactly is an amp kit ?!

i'm using a JBL CS60.4 for my 2 kenwood subs (500w each) and an old pio 402 amp for the speakers. am deciding to go for Boston components for the front and JBL coax for the rear. the subs are going to be installed in a fibreglass housing on the rear door of my scorpio. i also have an old pio equalizer with sub controls that i'm planning to install....what do u think !?

This rumour has been started by some irresponsible senior officials at SSPL and this is why I cant respect such a company. There is not an ounce of truth to this...

4/3 Channel Stero Power amplifier. you think 2 of these will be good enuff ?! i dont have a big budget. :(( i have a solid box for the 2 subs made for a lancer, which i intend to exchange for one that fits in a scorpio...
a 554 bridged will be able to drive most 10" subs. so if you get 2 554 amps they alone will consume 9-10K of your budget. That leave you only 4K for 2 pairs of speakers! I would advise you to up your budget. You have a HU and subs so I am not going to include that.

2 pairs of coax JBL CS, JBL GTO, Alpine Type S, etc.. speakers: 6-7K
2 554 amps: 9-10K
4 ga. power cable: 1.5-2K
3 RCA Interlink Jr or Twister cables: 4K (1.3K each)
Install: 2K
Speaker wire: 2K
--------------------
Total: 26K

For the same price the Pio 6100 might be a better amp if your intend to drive subs with them. I would use a better amp like the JBL 60.4 mentioned by you for the main speakers. The Pio 402/404 amps are little less then useless in such an install.

Your budget amps choices then are: Sony 554, Pio 6100, and JBL 60.4

lol ! i kew u guys would react this way...i did not believe a word of it either ! anyway...i heard these Ultimates...and they're pretty good ! in fact...the components sounded better than some others we tried (pulse and boston). but i would like a little 'flaunt' brand value at least...so i think i'll go to boston components in the front and JBL coax for the rear, or if budget permits...both JBLs.

sam baba...can u tell be approx prices for JBL coax and components plz ?! i need to decide today/tomm so i can get the installation done on monday...thanks in advance !!

Correct there. And the Coaxials (6" right?) will be either 3990 for GTO or 2990 for CS

The 637 I am told are coaxials; the 607 are the comps. Sam represents JBL, he'll know more.

I am sorry that was a mis-type. 637 is a coaxial correct. I meant GTO607C
