Music Sytem for Scorpio

Would appreciate your advise for installing a music system for a Scorpio.

I have a Pioneer HU with a 12 CD changer
I also have a Rockford fosgate 4 channel amplifier

I need help with speakers and a Subwoofer...

Pls suggest where my speakers should be placed , I do not want to compromise too much on space...

Should I go with components ? or the regular three way ?

Pls also suggest what brand I should go with for both speakers and the sub.

My budget is around 8k

Appreciate your help.... look forward to hearing from the experts !!

You cant put components in Scorpio without creating kickpanels for them in the front. The kickpanels eat up a lot of space. Mood has this setup in his scorpio.

yup u can go ahead with components (advise u to persoanlly listen to various brands and choose what u feel sounds best to u and not go by our recommendations alone)..
btw how much did u pay for the Rockford fosgate 4 channel amplifier..

if ur budget is 8k for the speakers and the sub,i suggest u go for the sony sub XS-LD105P5
25cm High Performance Enclosure- Type Subwoofer
and get a good box done up for this and spend the rest on the components..

well this is out of my league. sam usually handles this kinda of stuff and he is AWOL. for 8K you are looking at components and a sub? 4K fr comps and 4K for sub? I have not liked the few sony speakers i have heard there must be some better for the money.

If you are looking at a good system for an unmodified Scorpio:

The original pods for the scorpio accomodate a rather odd 4"X6" speaker. Only 2 companies in India market this speaker, JBL and Blaupunkt.
The blaupunkt requires a slight fitting mod, the JBLs are a drop in. Surprisingly the JBL GTO6426e makes a great mid/high coaxial speaker. The rear positioning of the scorpio factory position speaker isnt bad either. It's right on top so carries through the car. The speakers are for 2950/- a pair MSRP.
That takes away a major part of your budget.
A 4 channel amplifier from Sony (the famous 504), 2 pairs of 6426e. (run both in parallel, no fader and put the high pass filter on 70hz)
Then buy a subbox, or a subtube and bridge it to the other 2 channels on the 504. This combination is somewhat more than your budget, but worth doing.

Enjoy!
