did you get the chance to measure the db in the car? did it cause other parts of the car to vibrate? Now that is a woofer for a swift.

so what you are sying is that if I am to use the 12" in a small box I'd could use a lot more power than 100W-150W and not damage the sub only in 0.5 cu ft. my F3 will be about 55Hz and going from the curves on teh pdf the roll off will be quite steep as well.

1. is hertz ever coming to bombay as i would love the hear this before even thinking of putting money into it. 12K for a 12" is a lot.
2. one option is to use a smaller sub with similar specs (40Hz in 0.5 cu. ft), capable of moving more air than my existing blus with better definition. a smaller sub might offer better F3 in the small box.

Unfortunately my SPL metre does not go above 140 dB...thats the ceiling....will get metre with higher measuring capacity and will let you know the exact figures.

The Swift cannot really take the Sub with this much of power...it will vibrate to death...you need hell lot of damping in the car.

As for Hertz coming to Bombay... put your ear to the ground... Can you hear that... Its coming...

140db is there for a reason. it is commonly refered to the SPl at which sound becomes painful and deafness can occur even if exposed to these levels for a short time.

You have a volume control for that....its like owning a powerful sports car...you dun drive it at its max speed daily...but yes when needed it can smoke every other car

140db at any time is dangerous. like 140mph in mumbai at any time is dangerous. only reason to get a sub like that is atleast it will be well in control at 100db but then many smaller subs will suffice too.

The best part about Image Dynamics subs is they are never out of control. The sound is linear through their rated power band.

ofcourse if they are capable of 140db+! It's lik getting a Ferrari to drive you to work. My needs end at 100-105db. I never listen to anything louder than 95db, usually 85db.

They can play at any levels below that. They play the best of all the subwoofers i have come across till date. No matter if you play 85dB or 105dB....its HiFi played loud.
