Thanks for the reply. I am also looking for a similar setup in my SX4. do you recommend any other model or any other make. sony has only one and it costs 32k. my requirement is onlyto add reverse camera and watch songs etc. by the way what else can u do with this display?

No need to say thanks bro,

I would suggest that you avoid sony as they are known to be troublesome in the long run, although sony has the best display as it's a VGA unit.

Apart from the JVC AVX-826(the one I have),
you can consider the Pioneer 4150 and the Kenwood ddx5034.
The pioneer is around 27k grey and the Kenny is around 28k with B&W. But both of these neither have inbuilt bluetooth nor a detachable face plate.

The install looks fantastic but only in photo's.

Actually the HU and the reverse camera are slightly mis-aligned.
That is the reason as to why I am refraining from fixing the chrome strips as well as posting better pictures.

I'll be going back to the installer to get both the issue's rectified, as soon as that is done the pictures would come up.

If all goes well the pics should come up by tomorrow evening. :)

What do you mean by misaligned?

Nice stuff bro! So how much does the cheapest touch interface cost?
Congrats on the purchase!

PS: I just saw your display pic, 'Hauli chalo paaji'.

Drive safe bro!

Thanks!!

The cheapest ones are actually non branded Chinese stuff available for 12-15K with 6-12 months warranty. The cheapest branded ones would cost around 20K without B&W.

The HU and the reverse camera both are slightly tilted on one side. I'll try and get pictures.

There is nothing wrong in Mr SINGH's answering of those questions which are presented to me for answering as long as he is technically correct.

I would sincerely advice you to make valuable contribution on the forum rather than finding faults in the cars, ice & accessories that I buy. Whether its the SX4, Ritz or the black tints & JVC combo. Dude it should really not make any difference to you. If I have bought something and am happy with it then why are you getting bothered.

You claim to have sold your Ritz after driving it for 998km, your SX4 after 2500km and apparently a friend of your's who bought a JVC got fed up of it as well. You my dear friend are also buying defective stuff or the way with which you handle your stuff is defective or is it a habit to buy defective stuff and then make the necessary corrections? I'd suggest you take your pick and decide as to which one is applicable in your case.

Good one Dude. Nice way to close this :thumbs up

By the way does this HU have TA in it?

Have a look at these pics

The gap on the top left corner is greater in comparison to the right side.

In this picture the bar appearing on top of the screen should be straight. But since the camera is slightly tilted, the bar seems to be slanting.

I agree with you, I'll try to get the tilt rectified tomorrow itself & then post pictures of the final result. :D

Nope I didn't check any of the other EXAD models, as none of them come with in built bluetooth.

Hey Rahul,
Nice install. I also have a JVC - the KDAVX 44 (el-Kameleon or whatever). It's got in-built bluetooth and a built-in mic. It's a single DIN and on the Scorpio, I've got the rear-view camera integrated into the number plate. But I'm not too clued in as to what's the latest on the market now. Got this a year and a half ago after the M&M Nippon unit packed up.

Didn't realized you had just fitted this in your car when we met on Friday. You could've checked it out.

Cheers,

Well I guess it gives us all the more reasons, for organizing another Team-BHP meet!! what say??

Rahul,

The unit looks awesome, especially in the night. Thanks for those pointers, it will help when I get mine fitted.

Do let me know when you decide to buy the steering control adapter. Will any unit (that mentions JVC) found here work? 'pac steering wheel controls' < All - Shop in the US from India @ 20North

But on another thought, does it make sense in just buying a steering remote for JVC? The ones that are strapped on to the steering? They have a lot of other functions in addition to just volume and next track. But unlike the SX4 steering, the Scorpios steering is thicker and the segments are smaller. Thus if I fit the unit, I won't have space for my fingers (when the steering is held straight) :(

very nice setup. How comfortable it is while shuffling songs or changing FM channels?

I will go in for the PAC compatibility module, because personally I don't like the look of the strap on units & in any case how far is the HU from either of the front seats. :)

Thanks!! changing FM channels and shuffling songs is actually easy, as all I need to do is swipe my finger across the screen.
