does the bass boost feature provided by a pio 7100 mono amp makes great a difference, cause pio 6100f 4 ch amp does not have bass boost.

Well i would give a thought to the advice you people have given me. But in the near future i would rather not want to replace the stock front speakers and mostly i would not be intrested in connecting the front speakers with amp.

Thanks.

bass boost can be used to compensate from some deficincies. but too much bass can make the sound unbearable. so like everythig else it must be used judiciously.

If your headunit has non fading sub preout and crossover built it. I will recommend not to use the bass boost with the amp at all..

JB, since the car environment is not really anechoic i have found that using the amp's level and bass controls (low pass freq, boost, Q) can help is reducing the boom in a sub. This seems to be more evident in IB installs. However this must be used very judiciously.

Yes you can use 7100M with 7750..no issues at all..use the crossover and Parametric Eq of the headunit to tune the sound.

Don't use the amp crossover when you are using the sub preout (as the sub pre crossovers in the HU cannot be bypassed) and its easier to set. Set the amp crossovers to through.

so thinking about the Mono amp pio 7100 i guess sealed box should be the best, isnt it?

As aseem bhai in once of his replies said that," a sealed box should be prefered only if you have enough power in the amp to drive the sub and to get the bass in the cabin. Moreover sealed box provides a better definition in bass". Does this amp pio 7100 satisfy what assem says.

amit just go for this amp with a sealed enclosure for the sub with ur eyes closed..dont worry too much about the specs and stuff..trust me its the best combo u can get..
a good sub, sealed enclosure and 7100 to run it..

PS : look at me, im running DVC sub which is 250W rms in a sealed encloure from the 5h ch of my alpine amp..guess how much power my amp is givin my sub..its around 100W(not more but less),compared to that urs is way overpowered..and mine works just fab..so no worries whatsoever..stick to ur decision..

Just go with the sealed box...it needs very less / no equalisation as compared to bandpass and ported enclosures, The response is flat too..

sealed boxes are by far the easiest to design and most tolerant (in response) of deviations from the ideal. Also once you have a sealed box you can tune it later. just get the sealed box and let us know how it sounds.

can u people suggest a sub woofer (within Rs 6500) to go along with this pioneer 7100 mono amp.

Is this pio 7100 amp easily avaliable in mumbai?

Navin ji, and other Mumbai people, kindly give me the expected price range in Mumbai for the amps (7100,3100) listed in my post #266, because i am not sure how much price to look for.

Thanks

i have ordered for pio 7100 mono amp, but for some reason it is out of stock. Rest of the things that i ordered have come and tomorrow i am going to get the audio setup done.

I haev seen a 2 ch amp of SoundStream XTA180.2. Can this amp be connectec to the jbl bass tube? More over this amp is readily avaliable with my dealer.

These are the specifications for XTA180.2
BiLinear selectable crossovers for inputs and outputs
Continuously variable high and low pass crossovers
Varialbe subwoofer EQ
Phase inversion switch (0-180 degrees)
Platinum 4G power connectors
TriMode Operation
THD 0.5%
Frequency response 10-30KHz
Signal to Noise Ratio 96 dB
Damping Factor 200
Crossover Slopes 12 dB
Subwoofer EQ 0-18 dB @ 45Hz
 • XTA180.2
 • 2 X 45 RMS 4 Ohm
 • 2 X 90 RMS 2 Ohm
 • 1 X 180 RMS 4 Ohm Mono
Althought these spec show that XTA180.2 can be used a Mono amp i.e 1 x 180 Rms (4 ohms), but the official SoundStream webite does not mention anything like this (ie mono spec)?

i need final verdict from u guru ji log as soon as possible.
Which one should be preferred?

jbl tube + pio 7100 Mono amp

OR

jbl tube + SoundStream XTA180.2

A quick googling say that it does 180@4ohm. Some sites doesnt even say abt it working as a mono.

Why cant you wait for the mono to arrive. Monos would be far better unless you need that spare channel to power another set of speakers. But then again, if its just for sub, I doubt whether you can use the spare channel for another pair of speaker once you have bridged the amp for the sub.

Hey people, i got my audio setup done today in accent. The audio roars and rocks.
The setup that i have done is
1. Head Unit pioneer 7750
2. Amplifier 4 ch : Blaupinkt THA 480: (rms at 4 ohms 2 x 80 + 1x 240)
3. JBL bass tube
4. Good copper wiring.

I will upload the pics tomorrow. Finally i would say that i am very much satisfied with the setup. Its producing great bass, and the system is rocking.
