Lovely choice of components. Congrats!! Is the Genesis stuff sourced from within India?

Great install and great choice of components. One question. The ID CTXs have good clarity, no doubt. But do you find them a little too bright, or are they subdued?

Yes Genesis was sourced from India only from BBW Distributors in Delhi.

CTX are not bright for me because I wear turban all the time.

Eh?

Ok, lets rephrase. Assuming a person who doesn't wear a turban (me, me!) is looking for an SQ set of components, will he find the CTXs too bright?

@Monty congrats its a worthy upgrade. I am sure iDV3 must be hitting some smooth super low notes.

To answer the question in simpler terms iD speakers are livelier sounding. Unlike most German / Italian speakers they are not really soft / warm (if that's the term you are looking for) sounding

It depends a lot on your ear, tuning and what kind of music you listen to. My friend recently installed iD CXS and right out of the box without run-in he found them damp bright. After 15-20 days got a call from him that speakers now sound better and not that bright but still needs to be tuned perfectly to his taste. Took few days to tune his setup and he can't believe its the same speaker he bought a month ago.

But other factors matter too. HU, AMP, RCA etc.

abhi the id cxs out of the box are very harsh and not very inspiring.but they take their own sweet time to run in. i was also quite disappointed with their sound but now they are quite good . a good amp will bring them more to life

Ah, now those are helpful answers. As I said, clarity of these speakers are well known. The fact that they reduce in brightness after being run in makes them worth considering.

So it would be safe to assume that they'll run well with an Infinity Kappa 4 putting out 125w RMS per channel, and a good HU. Thanks guys.

Its just all about your taste. You'll find people who like brightness, others may like more of vocals etc etc.

Its just you need to audition the stuff you'r buying. Hearing is believing. Every person has different taste and not all are same, and they will describe the sound according to their taste.

For me, I have never heard any other compos except the iD CTX. So those are the best for me at that budget. Ive heard rupinder sir's iD CXS but when they were just out of box. (you need a better amp sir)

And yes as Abhibh said it all depends on the Equipments you using and how the tuning is done.

Congrats monty! Sweet upgrade!
The amp placement and layout would be something to look forward to.

P.S.
Missed out the chance to audition your setup the other day in Chd. Plan a weekend trip sometime!

Thank you sir. Truth is, I've never auditioned any Image Dynamics product. Maybe its a good time to visit Ludhiana (which I've never been to either) and audition the setup in your car

One more question. What's the size of the enclosure for the ID sub? And what's your review on the performance of the sub?

Sure, you are welcome anytime to visit and audition my setup. Rather if you come to Delhi you can audition the iD stuff at Driven. They stock iDs.

I actually don't remember the volume of the box. Will measure it some day and let you know.

Amp wala suggestion was for Mr. Rupinder.
