I was actually thinking on the same lines, but when i pressed the seat - i never gave me any hint of iron rods in there. ultimatley ended up mounting the amps on either sides of the boot!

So when is the audition ? (love your tweeter placement - must be real music for your ears)
Isnt it better to open and see rather than press and feel. Your 3 amps may not have fitted in any case.
By Side mounting you also have the flexibility of folding the rear seat when loading big luggages.

one of our bhp's civic had two woofers installed in the tail light area, i believe civic has the required depth. it looked very neat and provided lots of space.
I also got the amplifier installed in the position where there is a void place next to the rear seats.
We should have another ice meet.

Planning to put rear speakers. what are the ideal options available that will jel with the current setup? I do not want to add another amp.

At present the front comps and woofer are connected to the amp.

Ideally a speaker pair from the same family and series is what people suggest.

Well, co-ax/compos; the choice is up to you.

oh ok, that should be the way then. Thanks jkdas.

Can we install comps without amps, will the effect be the same. otherwise, will go for a 3-way co-ax speakers.

If you have a good budget go in for components else stick to coaxials. Components without an amp would sound better than coaxials. Two way coaxials should be fine, 3 way might sound a bit bright.

2 set of comps on the i10 will be a overkill, shall go for coaxials. The current ICE already seems a bit bright and i have to keep the setting low.

What happened to your ICE, has it been done?

If the current setup is bright for you then imagine what a 3way coaxial would do to it. Be it comps or coaxials, go in for something which has good sensitivity. Since you plan to drive them with the HU, high sensitivity speaker would do well.

My ICE project is shaping well but at a very slow pace. Got hold of HU, amps and comps for the front. Working on the sub and rear's.

how are the component speakers ?

Also where did you get the sub grills from ?

I am using Boston for my rear co-ax and i am pretty happy with the performance

Install won't happen for another month atleast as some of the equipments are to be procured. Installation will be done at "Watts n Sound".

Senthil,

Can i know the exact reason ? Is it because most of the time you are sitting at the back or you wanted it as a rear fill only?

If former - Components would be a better choice and if later a decent 6.5" Coaxials (on Doors), driven by HU should be good enough.

Most of Entry level and Mid level Boston's are bright. So a JBL / Hertz / Pioneer Coaxials won't make much of a difference, if you cannot get hold of Boston Coaxials.
