Thanks s3va. The comps are good, the tweeter is a tad too bright and crisp.
lucky for me, the grill came with the woofer.
what have you put in the front?

praveen,
Two reasons: at times when wife sits at the back with kids, complains of no music.
Having been used to rear speakers ever since we had car audio, now it feels like something is missing. the sound does not seem to be complete without the rear speakers.

Let me see what my ICE guru has in mind, we might go for boston / jbl speakers.

if you are considering JBL then go for infinity reference 9623/9633 i have 9623 as my rear fills and they sound amazing. i ran my setup without the sub but with the amp for the first couple of months and believe they have some potential.
my friend has the same in his i10 and they sound better in an i10 than a swift .
they are better than JBL hands down as infinity is their premium brand.

Damping !! Rear Speakers !!

Last week did a second set of upgrade to the ICE Setup.

Put up damping for the front doors and Trunk.
-- God the damping is what you call 'magic'. What an amazing change it has brought to the front comps.

Before the damping, the comps bass was nearly non-existing, no effect at all. If the woofer was switched off, then you cannot hear any bass effect.

After damping it's completely opposite to that, the bass rocks. The performance is just too good. This was like magic to me and can't believe such things can happen, but it has happened., it's very dramatic.

Installed JBL GTO 638 rear speakers
-- Powering the rear with HU directly. significant effect only, i really need to put the fader setting to rear and increase the volume to 8+ to hear the rear speakers. otherwise the amp powered comps shadow the rears.
But am i not going to go for another amp as of now, let it be like it is for sometime.

Ice installation on the i10 is sort of complete now and i am very happy with the effect.

Thanks to Nitrous again for the damping & rear speakers and for being there.

Let Down:
The alternator whine noise has surfaced again, it's sort of boring and need to visit the installer again to get it rectified. Whatever fixing he does seems to be for a short while only and keeps coming up again.
Installer was hinting at putting up a capacitor, should check with nitrous if its' really required.

Senthil, How much did the damping cost you ? Did you use noise kill or any other sheets ?

Arun, the damping was done by nitrous. I think it is noise kill, do not remember seeing the name on it though.

Touchbase with nitrous for the damping stuff

Thanks Ram.

I am not very sure myself on the capacitor functioning, i guess it should streamline the power supply to eliminate the whine noise. The gurus can provide more information.
No idea on the cost aspect.

This is one of the cons of using non-automotive wiring for power. The RCA's should not cross them at any point. since the RCA and power runs on different sides, check the wiring under the seat. If you can't eliminate it, you can try using a different set of RCA's.

OT: Life is a little hectic here in Bangalore and I don't have the fiesta here, so no ICE too.

^^ Not as simple as you think.
I believe the whine's present even when the engine's not running.
