@ muni, mate if the Pio HU can displayreal-time vehicle performance data — including acceleration, lateral G-forces, estimated horsepower, and torque, in addition to speed and RPM, why cant a blau HU . shame if they cant !

So what do you people think? I was looking for the 240 or 320 from Alpine but the Alpines that are currently on sale in the market are all too expensive. My budget is 10K. Should I go in for one of the Blaupunkt amps?

IN that budget i'd look at the Pio 6100. it offers 4 channels to the 275's 2. Now 2 x 275 = 7.5-8K. The Pio 6100 is less than that and is a simpler install (1 power amp instead of 2).

How is the sound of the Pioneer? And I think the 6100 is also a little difficult to get. I checked with a couple of dealers yesterday. How would the Blau 480 be?

480? I have the 450 in my wife's car (driving subs and rear speakers) and have heard of the 470. the 450 is ok. the alpine 340 is a lot smoother and so is an older blau velocity 504.

Yes, the Blau GTA 480. See http://www.tmc-electronics.com/products_blau_amp.html

I am confused now. The Alpines are out of the question if I do not get the 240 or 320. As you said, the 275 install will be more complicated. I am not sure of the Pio. So one of thest Blaus will have to do. What say?

the 275 has 2 channels. hence you'll need 2 to power 4 channels or 2 speakers and a sub. with 2 amps you have to be 4 times are cafreful so not to introduce alternator whine etc.. that is all. almost all my installs are with 2 amps and if you are careful you should not have a problem.

this is from Blau's india site...

So how would you rate the 450 and what did you pay for it? With or without B&W?

Lot of people are recommending the Pioneer 6100/7100 amps, including JB. Are they so good and comparable/better than Blau?

well vivek the pio amps are quite good..if u all remember i was to get both the 6100 and the 7100 for my setup until navin came up with the alpine 450 suggestion..so that was the best alternative i had apart from the alpine back then..ya performance wise they are on par with the blaus..but the only problem being its difficult to source these pio amps in bangalore..mine were to be got down form singapore by revtech but found a better alternative here and a better one at that.

Now, I am really, really confused. Pio is good but difficult to source. Blau is not as good as Pio. Alpine not available in grey.

thats really strange..ask JB about grey alpine in bangalore and he will come down with a baseball bat..bloody entire bangy is filled with grey alpines..its just that the 240 and the 320's arent available here thats it..
PS : still cant forget JB's reaction when he figures out that almost every shop he walks into is selling alpine grey..

That is what I meant. The 240 and 320 not available in grey. The 345 and 450 and others are very much available in grey.
