Harman Kardon CA470 or ?

hi, I was planning to buy the HK CA470 amp for my car, But its unavailable and discontinued by HK and if available, very difficult to get one. So, what are the other options in this price range, my budget is 25k tops. Please list all the amps which are as good or better than HK in terms of SQ.

You could also look at the Infinity kappa four or if you could get the Audison LRX 6.9k.

..huh! and someone just compared the HK with that crappy Kenwood 8404.

IK 4 is not readily available in Delhi grey, but you may ask some dealers in Karol bagh to source one for you.

I don't think Kappa 4 will ever be available in grey.

hey, thanks for the suggestions, but its a class D amp, won't it produce higher levels of distortion when compared to an A/B amps. I thought that Class D are more suitable for the sub. Would i be able to find one in Delhi ? Does gyro keep this in stock.

is it worth getting an Audison lrx 6.9(brand new) though its without any warranty, for 36k. Though i have used an Audison lrx4.5 in my previous setup (now sold), but not very sure this time. As i was told that New Audison's are not as good as the old one's. I also heard they are not being made in Italy anymore, is it ?

Kappa Four is in fact available throughout Delhi (and other parts of India) but only with "High-End" dealers.
If he doesn't have it and has to "source" it, he's not on the list of authorized dealers.

But it cannot be hard to find at all.

You are correct about the CA470. It was super but HK has stepped out of the car amplifier business.

The 6.9K is about Rs. 35,000.

Sam did I not recommend the Kappa 1/4 combo for your new steed?

@Sam - Whats with HK/JBL/Infinity? They keep introducing a product and then discontinuing it in no time. Is there any SQ amp in the lines of Audison that are manufactured by JBL & Infinity since now HK has pulled out?

There isnt a difference simply coz there was never an audison LRX6.9k in the market! The correct model number for the 6ch amp from Audison is LRX6.9.

here is a link to an audison lrx6.9 install in a Honda Civic done by Gunbir http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sound-...nstall-6.htmlr!

I am afraid you will have to recheck that. here is the link from the AUDISON website for the LRX6.9

Audison - Music Expression

It clearly states the model number as LRX6.9

Cheers
