Hi Everyone,
Please find some daylight Pics.
Hi,
Also tried a couple of DVDs; the picture quality is quite good, even from the rear seats! Am yet to try the IPOD and see if one can play video from the IPOD. Would update soon. :)
Hi,
Tried playing from my iPod. The music plays really well and you can control the iPOD using the hu quite well.
I tried playing the video, but could not see the picture on the screen, though could hear the audio pretty well.
Pioneer website mentions the need for a special iPOD cable from Pioneer.
Any ideas/thoughts on this?
regards,
Nitin.
No Suggestions yet from the gurus?

One of our Mods (GTO) has the 4200 (one model about the 3200). He too needed the iPod cable from Pioneer. See his thread in the Sound off Show off section.
Nitin,
Just wanted to know on whether you are able to control the HU(changed one) using the audio controls in the steering. I believe you've a VX version (wooden panel tells that :))
It would be wonderful to think about changing the OEM HU if the steering controls work perfectly fine.
Yes you can still use the steering remote buttons once you change the head unit with use of a steering remote interface.
@nitinbose:PM me if you want a LOC.I have one which was used for just 4 months.

Yes, the steering controls would fine. In my case, Thouqueer (Autofusion) placed a circuit board in my steering, which is connected to the steering controls and then to a remote transmitter, so this works just like a legacy remote but you get all the functions on the steering wheel. The remote transmitter looks like a plain LED and is placed in the reading light unit.

I recently went to the toyota showroom and they asked if i would like to upgrade my stock system with the new innova touchscreen system, however the price quoted was 1.3 lacs...whoooa!!!! a new nano for sure!!!
Anyways, the guy there mentioned that i could obtain the same upgrade for just about 43K by buying the same system from Motawa...which incidently is the OEM for the new innova...I am not sure about that information.
None the less i tried a search for this product, but was unable to locate it, any suggestions as to what this sales guy was pitching at.

He must have meant Motevo
http://www.motevomobile.com/
another alternate is Caska and I believe Witson also makes similar products.
Thanks Navin
Do you have the links for the other two brands you mentioned...

Anybody know how to get the Metevo systems purchased in Bangalore and where to get installed, I'm sure it must be cheaper than what the Toyota guys quoted.
Alternately, i am interested in upgrading to an android based media player with full navigation functionality and hard drive option. Any suggestions.
please:

It will be definitely cheaper - around 45-50K.
But, please go to a decent installer (look up the Bangalore installers thread) and check out prices of touch screen 2DIN HUs from the regular brands like Kenwood, Pioneer, Blaupunkt, JVC, Sony etc.
* With navigation, they are cheaper than Motevo / Caska / Witson units
* The regular brands, unlike these brands, have established After Sales Service facilities, and ...
* They sound much, much better than the WinCE / Android based units
Navigation is usually Garmin (internal, e.g. in Kenwood) or Map My India (external hide-away box).
