Thanks for sharing Quadra, install looks decent. Bostons look huge on your cute chevy's boot, hope you would freak out this weekend with some gangsta numbers .

OR
should i go for a new battery ??

Sorry to be the first one to reply (as I am not the guru), by default, you do not need to go for a new battery, which amp have you zeroed on by the way?

Not a guru, but when i got my car (Spark ) ICE'd at Evo, i had the same question for Satya since I went for the Sub+Amp+Front compos in a single install.

He said as long as you don't blast the music with the ignition off and the system running on battery, there is no need to worry about battery health.

Good to know buddy that you got a spark (ICEd at EVO)
I know that you should not be running the ICE (heavy ICE) when the ignition is OFF. I would still want to change the battery as its a STOCK one and i always have the fear its failure one fine day.

Checking your thread now

How old is your car? Coz i got mine only in March this year and hence am not worried about replacing the battery. Should i be?

BTW sorry dont have a thread yet for the ownership review/ICE.. Will put one up soon.

For you, i dont think replacement of battery is needed.

Please do post your ownership thread - me too dont have one yet.

I'm not much of a battery person so I cant give you concrete suggestions. My car has an Exide battery and its pretty good, no problems at all, I had good experiences with Amaron batteries which we use for the inverter at home and they are workhorses.

Re: Spark ICEd at EVO

The existing ICE setup needs adjustment.
As Satya forecasted (the plastic planks would not be able to sustain the weight of MDF tray + speakers) the tray is making a thud noise if i go over a hump / pothole.

The plan:
Get rid of the MDF tray = Re-arrange the existing speaker placement.

Setup:
Stock HU
Components in Dashboard
Coaxials in rear MDF tray

Rearrangement options i could think of:
1. Get custom made speaker boxes for the coaxials and velcro strap them in the boot.

Any advice on how to fix this?

Satya can custom make speaker boxes for your car, which not only takes minimum space but it will sound good too. Here is the link for the set up in my car (which I don't have anymore as I relocated to the U.S).

Hope this helps!

Thanks. Do you recall the price of just the speaker boxes in the boot? Should the speakers be facing upwards or faced towards each other?

Alternately, wouldnt it be easy to reinforce those plastic claddings.

Even I am facing the same problem in my Sparky.

My set up is as follows:
Pio HU (forgot the number )
Kicker compos.
JBL GTO938 at the rear.
Comps & Coax driven by a Cerwin Vega 200.4 Amp.
Got it done at the same place

The bass effect is as good as my standalone CV 10" sub in the Punto.

Check which solution works.
If we remove those plastic claddings with MDF boards/fibreglass and bolt them to the C Pillar, will that not be easier.
