Polk dB690 Vs Infinity Reference 9633i

Guys could you please help me out which is better between these two.
I am already having infinity ref 6022i in front doors and polk db 690 on boot tray in a zen 2003 model with a Kenny x994 (8016BT).
I have a opportunity to swap the db's with infi's at back .
Should i go for it.I listen to everything that has sound .
Future upgrades include a 5 channel amp and a woofer (both Infinity probably).

Thanks

as long as your polks dont develop some problem, you dont probably need to change. If you had a polk component speaker I probably would have suggested you to change

The smell is copper burnt smell, though this happening all the time is not good, but it may not be such a concern unless the smell gets to unbearable levels.
Try keeping the gains low on the amp, that 1004 is too powerful and sounds very raw compared to the older amp 75.4.

Smell of burning copper?! 1. Is it normal?
2. Does it happen with every ICE which has an external amplifier?
3. If yes, isn't there a solution to this problem?

Smell of insulation burning that comes when wires overheat due to continuous overloading. No, does not happen every time, and not in most installations. The solution is using cables rated higher than the highest current expected in a situation. If you don't intend to put all knobs at max and attempt to permanently disable your auditory faculties, the normal wires are good enough.

Guys the smell came only for few days after i installed the amp .It doesn't come now at all even after playing loudly continuously for a long time and they system still sounds great. And all wiring is as it comes in the original JBL kit so i am assured about the wiring and speakers wires are 16 gauge .
Now i am looking for a slim sub woofer (<13cm mounting depth) available in india to fix in the spare wheel well )Any options are awaited.I saw the Kappa 120.9 and JBL8" as listed on JBL India website meeting my height requirements. However 8" is not available at all .Does anyone know the price of 120.9 .

Also should i get the JBLGTO3501 or 7001 .I am bent on 7001 .

Regards
