5u3zero, both of us will agree that installation and wiring should be given importance and it should be done by a professional. In scorpio, the 6x9s must definitely be put in a box behind the middle row with the speakers facing the roof (not each other). I've done this in my sumo.

SUVs are notoriosuly poor for car installs unless you are gutting out the entire car and taking to a Competition level.

time for upgrade...

Its almost an year since i installed my ICE and now its time to upgrade my system.

Objective : To install a subwoofer and a amplifier.
Budget: Around 12k(officially)

I have pretty much zeroed in on what i am going to install (after reading post from our gurus out here). I got quotations from couple of installers... would like to know whether the price is right.

Pioneer 6200F -Rs.8200/-
Pioneer TSW306-DVC - 3500/-
Enclosure - 2000/-
Twister cable set - 2000/-
Installation - Rs. 1500/-

Are the prices correct, or is it a rip off.... please advise. Also let me know whether the same pioneer amp bought in US would work here??? 6200F is selling at around Rs. 5700 at amazon...or can i buy it from singapore or dubai???

please help.

i think the installation charges are a bit much. i paid 600 bucks to install an amp and sub in my santro last month (EB Bass). enclosure price also is on the higher side...IMHO. can you post pics of your current install...would love to see it.

What kind of enclosure are you going for? 2k seems a little too much for a regular MDF box and that too an enclosure for one sub.

The installation charges also seem to be a bit high, but this is subjective. If the guy is an expert (a known expert), and he'll do the job really well, with a really neat finish, in a way that doesn't hurt me or the car much, 800/- to 1000/- bucks would be ok. And of course, this payment should get me corrections/repairs related to the install (and not the equipment) done for free at least for the next year.

For a regular installer (attached to a car accesories shop) who mostly does ordinary run-of-the-mill installations, I wouldn't pay more than 500/- for the job. And with a (non-expert) guy like this, you'll need to be coaxing him to do this, don't do that, don't touch that etc. etc.

i am totally illiterate on this subject. it should be a box type enclosure to house the subwoofer... can you suggest me an indicative price for this.

regards
tifosi.
