What Components to buy from Europe?

Hi,

Hey all am on my vacation trip to Europe and i am travelling across Paris Switzerland and London.
I wanted to know from where and which component speakers to buy from this places for my 800 front doors?
My HU is Alpine CDE 102e AMP is pioneer premier series 4channel amp and have a MTX12' SUB in the boot.

I prefer sound with more focused on Mid bass and vocals and less for treble.
So please gurus suggest me some good set of components to buy.
Is ebay.uk trust worthy to buy stuff from?

Thank you.

Ebay.uk has many vendors. Some are trustworthy others are not. Stick to the big stores.

That said EU prices are often higher than Indian prices.

Media Markt (I think they are in Switzerland and Paris too apart from Germany) prices are around the same as that in India.

Most locations Carrefour (supermarket) carry some popular brands, though none are likely to be top of the line.

@jatinpatel, you would be better off doing your purchases in India!

I don't know about mainland Europe, but in London, go to Tottenham Court Road, wide range of Electronic items including Car Audio. Most shops will help you in getting VAT refund as well.

I second that. Europe is probably the worst place in the world to buy stuff, unless it's foodstuff.

Diamond Audio is popular with audiophiles. I am not sure about its car audio components. Coustic does specialise in car audio. IMO you are looking for an audiophile equipment. The entire setup may be an overkill for 800. Do u have stock front speakers as of now?

@taureen bull

well currently i have installed blau 3way coax on the doors and have amplified them
they are 6" mounted on rings

thinking of components cause when i hear rock music in my car i feel there is something a miss.Had earlied coustic 4" co axs in the stock dashboard locations and i was pretty happy with those but being 4" front imaging was not proper hence fitted the blau coax which i removed it from my other car. though the imaging has improved but still there is a bit of a miss.

Hence need advice for decent compos.

Media Markt is in Germany too. Saturn and Media Markt are two major electronics player in Germany.

@jatinpatel: European products has to comply with European standard, so you will get quality products but the downside is, no international warrenty on most of the electronics product.

Media Markt is a German company. Sometimes they have deals going, but one has to go to the store to know about that. Fortunately, they are usually at a location conveniently accessible by bus, metro or local trains.

@jatin : If you dont mind can you clarify for which car are you planning this setup. I know you mentioned 800 here. But in your other thread, I saw you mentioning that you have an old Lancer and would be upgrading to car between 9-11L.

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/sedans...9-11lakhs.html

If you are upgrading why not to plan for the new car? Sorry that my question may appear foolish.

One more thing I request you to clarify is that are you looking for suggestion for components or suggestions for components from Europe. In case of former, we have lots of range in India. You will also not have any problems for ***. The purpose of buying from Europe is cost cutting or brand selection?

that's pretty expensive too but atleast you get what you pay for! LOL.

EU prices are not much cheaper than Indian prices and if you buy in India you have some recoruse incase of failure. In fact if you are only comparing reputed stores, Indian prices compete with most countries in many products. Ofcourse selection and specials might change this.

As already posted by many, Europe is pretty costly for buying electronic items. Though it is cheaper than India, you may not see the significant difference.
How about buying books from there - especially the banned ones in India

You are not reckoning with a few things here:
* The Indian prices are at shops - eBay seller does not have such overheads
* Lead time required for the seller to pack and ship to you in London
* The fact that you need a London address for a UK seller to ship to you
* If you get it shipped to India, the total cost would probably exceed the price in India
* You have no recourse in case of damage in transit during shipment

Try the shops on Tottenham Court Road (Central or Northern lines on the Tube) between Oxford St. and Euston Road.
