Morel vs DLS {High End Tweeters - High levels of confusion}

Hi Friends,

I am now in the last phase of my setup. I need to choose between two equally competent tweeters but i am not able to decide firmly.

Hence would need your opinion in this.

To give you a quick run of my existing setup:
HU - Eclipse CD 7200 MKII
Midbass - 6" Morel Hybrid Ovation
Mid Range - 3.5" Morel CDM-88
Tweeters - ???
Woofer - 12" Morel Ultimo

Forget about the Amps for now, (as i myself have not decided which amp to use for what component)

Now, i need to select my Tweeters and i have narrowed down to these two;
  1. Morel MT-23
  2. DLS Scandinavia 1
  3. Any other tweeter (pls list)
As most of you, i haven' heared either of them. Hence i am attaching theier specs and Frequncy response graphs. Dint get much info on their T/S parameters though. Price wise they are more or less the same.

The Specs as below;
MT 23 - See Image

DLS Scandinavia 1
Size of tweeter - 28mm
Fs - 655 Hz
Impedance - 4 ohm
Rec. Amp Power - 50-200 Watt
Sensitivity - 93 db
Frequency Range - 1Khz -30 Khz
Re - 3 ohm
Qts - 0.39
Qes - 0.49
Qms - 1.77

I am looking for a good response from as low as 3 Khz, i want it to be linear as well.

please vote and help me decide.

I'd take the Morel MT23. The most smooth and sweet sounding tweeters.

This case is Shut!!

P.S: Get the Supremo and no looking back.

Mi10, my vote went into the 'other' category. Take a look at the JL Audio ZR100-CT. You have heard the tweeters in my XR and you know how good they sound. So imagine what the top of the line ZR would sound like. These tweeters wont be very powerful though so check the specs. Build quality will be amazing.

I have not heard the other two as well, but if I had to choose between them, I would go for the Morel.

It was as simple as you said, until i had a view at Scandinavia 1 Specs.

Its like supremo level specs at MT-23 price

This is what is adding to the confusion.

P.S: If i was able to afford the Supremo, this thread wouldn't have existed

Checked the JL dude, i like their signature, infact Power handling is more then i expected (50W RMS, 120W Max) but their frequency response starts bit high for my usage.

Most tweeters tend to have some peaks when crossed lower around 2-3khz which can make the tweeter sound harsh. DLS Scandinavia 1 has a good low Fs 655. But going through the manual you will see that the recommended xover point mentioned is at 4/5/6 khz. However there aren't much details put out. Plus it's a large format tweeter. With morel's the MT23 are proven to have much sweeter sound compared to others and have much more detail. They will blend much better with the rest of the sound since you are running all Morel.

Since it's a 3 way setup I would also suggest to have a look at Scanspeak R3004/602000 mounted on-axis.
