Questions regarding USB Digital Audio I have some questions regarding USB Digital Audio.
1. When we use analogue audio, the AC voltage contols the volume. How does volume control work for Digital audio considering that all thats transmitted is 1's & 0's?
2. Since digital audio is transported as 1's & 0's, why do I hear a difference in the music, playing the same files from two different digital audio sources? (My One Plus 5 phone & my car Head Unit)
3. Using USB audio from my OP5 (strangely) I am able to control the volume from the phone itself. This digital signal is fed into a HELIX DSP.2. The HELIX also has its own master volume control. Is my assumption correct that to get the best audio quality, I should do the following: - MAX VOLUME ON OP5
- SET INPUT GAIN ON DSP TO AVOID CLIPPING. DOES INPUT GAIN EVEN APPLY TO DIGITAL AUDIO?
- USE HELIX REMOTE FOR VOLUME CONTROL
4. OR is the music quality independent of how the 2 volume controls are used? |
