Lanzar is now unfortunately a very mediocre brand. In fact it's below mediocre. Gone are the days when Lanzar amps (Optidrives) were revered. The rest of the product line is at par with Boss.

A link to some good-looking bandpass and otherwise enclosed subs. These aren't exactly SQ subs or anything but great for someone wanting to shake their ride.

Getting SQ out of bandpass is damn diffucult. Maybe even impossible given our narrow definition of SQ. The only bandpass woofer I even made that was even half successful used 2 Peerless 831727s in push push in a 3 chamber box. center chamber was 30 liters and the other 2 were 45 liters each. It was XOed at 80Hz to Dynaudio Geminis with a "diyaudio modified" crossover. And since it was home audio there were a stereo pair of these woofer systems (total of 4 10" Peerless woofers).

If i am not mistaken,u r going for SQ set-up,so u should prefer alpine over pio as alpine tends to produce 'sweeter' sound as compared to 'treblish' sound of pio.[acc to many reviews and posts]

And alpine 9853-55's glide touch bar has not many takers but i cant find any problem with my 9853's glide touch bar.
High end Pioneer HU's are considered better than Alpine HU's for a long time now in most audio forums. Here in T-BHP,i believe Gurus like especially Navinji don't consider Pioneer HU's is coz his tastes are more laid back sort of music where he considers the Pioneers a bit forward or bright which is not exactly his cup of tea. But then everyone has a different taste as far as Music is concerned. Secondly, they are insanely expensive if bought with B&W compared to the Alpine counterparts and 99% of owners who buy Pioneer products in India buy it through the grey market. So there is no back-up.

I agree that at a given budget of below 15-20k Alpine HU's are marginally better compared to the Pioneer ones in terms of SQ, but then beyond a budget of 20k i have heard about a few Pioneer HU's like the new DEH-P80RS and DEX-P90R to which apparently Alpine can serve no competetion(period).

This is based on my limited knowledge about ICE. Gurus please correct me if i am wrong.
