New Products for 2006 - Stuff to look out for

Hey TBHP ICE'ers

Just thought would let you guys know whats new for 2006.

First off, we see Pioneer has released some new HUs. Should be here soon as they are already available in Singapore and Thailand.

DEH-2850MP

Your regular basic Pio HU with WAV/MP3/WMA playback and one RCA preout. I think should be available for around 5K. I really like the retro touches and the overall looks. My new budget favourite for 2006, great for those simple HU+Front+Rear setups.

DEH-3850MPH

OK. This one is really funny. Can you say A-L-P-I-N-E. Never saw this coming.

DEH-5850MP

This one is predictable. A revamped 7750 for maybe approx the price of the 5750.

A lot of new products will be added by Alpine, Sony, Pioneer, etc at the CES 2006 in Las Vegas during Jan 5th to 8th. Will keep you guys posted on developments.

wonder why people use remotes in a car? the only remote that makes sense are those that fit in the steering wheel.

when chauffered i prefer a pair of senheissers and an ipod. it lets the chauffer pay attention to the road/traffic.

Wow, those are some cool products from pioneer. The 5850 looks like the 7750, but the 3850 is the coolest looking of the lot.

yeah remotes are available for jvc head units.when i got a HU last year the guy charged me 750 bucks and this year when i bought another one he gave it to me free with the head unit.so you should be able to get it for about 500 - 1000 bucks.any dealer who stocks jvc head units should be able to help you out.

Q: why a remote? I find it too distracting.

Just got a 2850 for a friend's M-800. It does not come with a remote but otherwise everything about the HU is way better than any of the budget models I have seen. Got it for 5.2K in Coimbatore.
