Panky, I'd strongly recommend 3-way components.
And you can get good stuff @ $600 from the US.
I can think of the DLS Iridium 6.3i, but I know you won't like the very very laid back sound signature of the DLS.

No difference really. Different countries, different monikers.

Both are discontinued.

Thanks Navin Ji.. Think need to redo the damping.

Each crossover itself weighs more than 1/2 kg and damn they're HUGE!

Congratulations, once again.
This is killer stuff.
You can't really go wrong with a top of the line JBL.
A heavy crossover = high performance.

Btw, damping won't do. You're now gonna need armored car doors.

Not always. A heavy crossover is usally found in high performance (or atleast high priced speakers) becuase it costs to make a heavy crossover (given that the primary weight of the crossover is an inductor which is copper).

However very very large inductors (even air core ones) store energy and that energy is released some time or another.

And this is assuming the crossover is properly desinged to begin with.

Re: JBL 608GTi or ID CTX65CS or Rainbow CSX 265 DREAM or Rainbow SLC 265 KICK

The manual says "the Xover has impedance - compensating circuitary and has been computer - programized for the flattest reponse. The combined responses constitute a 4th order Linkwitz-Reily acoustic alignment that cannot be duplicated with any other electronic X over currently available for use in car audio. Consequently, bi-amping is not recommnded".

Wonder what exactly is meant by this 4th order stuff! and what is this all about?

It means it has 24 db/slope hope it clears any doubt and why did you choose these against the one you have mentioned in the title.
