After spending almost a year on My Civic's audio and also good amount of money, I finally realised that I have a wrong car to start with and the quality of sound I was looking for cannot be achieved in this, so I stripped everything off that car and installed the OE HU and plus some four crappy speakers so there atleast can be some music in the car.

But, the want for GOOD music exsited even after that, I tried to sell the equipment I had from the Civic but unfortunately the prices I was getting were almost no value at all, and I was not keen on selling stuff at 50% the price even though they were hardly used. Anyways cut down to a week back when my brother bought a Swift DDiS for him, while taking delivery the only thought on my mind was this will be my ICE car, I want the Music back. So I start........ AGAIN .

Things in mind were clear, to use all the previous equipment and buy only the stuff needed to complete the setup, No upgrades no selling old stuff buying new. Keep the cost minimum and pick what is essential.

From the Previous Car, a Pioneer P80RSII. One of the only two headunits I like, The other one is the Pioneer P99RS

Maybe six months down the line I shall upgrade, but no immediate plan. Going in. P80RSII means that the system will run active. My Brother being the only person driving the car, active maked perfect sense. Plus now I like only like Active setups, Passive I dont understand.

Wiring again all from the Previous car. Power Wiring is Kicker PKD1, 0 gauge with Distribution blocks. Connection Audison RCAs. Speaker cable I had to buy new as the old wires I donated to a friend. Speaker cable I chose was again Connection Audison.

Mono Amp I had from the previous car was a Genesis Profile Sub. Nice small amp pumping out 550W at 2 Ohms. More than enough for the subwoofer I had planned to use with it.

Subwoofer in my install is a Morel Ultimo 12" 2 Ohm SVC Subwoofer. I had picked this subwoofer during my civic's install but unfortunately by the time it got delivered, I had no car to install this. It was packed and kept with me for long.

But finally I get a chance to install this in my swift. Will be putting this in a sealed box.

Thats all I had from my previous car, Now the stuff I needed to purchase were Front Speakers and a Four Channel AMP to drive them. I was initially buying a Genesis Series III Compact 4 but before I could buy it, the last piece got sold and nothing was available in that series.

Also then I realised, my brother is not that an Audiophile, his need was a good decent sounding system, so I decided to go with the options which suit his taste best and also dont cost a lot of money. So the choice was finalized to a Genesis Profile 4. Matched the Mono amp and was perfect in terms of money as well. Picked it up before the car got delivered as did not want to let go of this also.

Front speakers were again a tough decision but I went for the tried and tested Rainbow SoundLine SLC Kick's. My brother had heard these speakers before and liked them very much. So the final list of Equipment goes as

1. Head Unit :- Pioneer P80RSII
2. Fronts :- Rainbow SLC Kick
3. Amp :- Genesis Profile 4
4. Amp 2 :- Genesis Profile Sub
5. Subwoofer :- Morel Ultimo 12"

Finally with all equipment in place it was time to install it. My obvious choice for the install Driven. The only place I can leave my car for quality work. I fixed everything up with them, my brother left the car with them in the Morning. By the time I came back after lunch, amps and everything were mounted, wiring completed. Damping was left because I had to take a call on what to use. Once it was decided no time was wasted to complete the same. Front speakers were also mounted side by side and by evening my System was ready to be fired up !!

Since Dynamat is not available in Delhi, I went for the next best option Stinger Road Kill, Swift needs lot of damping and I initially got only Front Doors and Rear boot lid done. But it needs more. I will get more done in the coming weekend as soon as I find some time.

Just to clarify, Is that a Profile Sub (550 rms @ 2 ohm) or Profile Sub Ultra (1000 rms @ 2 ohms).

Congrats for a great-looking install. Am sure it sounds even better!
Heard two iDs running on the Genesis Profile Sub amp recently and really the Genny amp provides a lot of clean power. That Morel sub is one of the most transparent subs in the market.

What crossover points are you using to cross the tweeter and midbass?
