Sam, those are not "gull wingy thingys". Those are butterfly doors. Gullwings are what you find on the original Mercedes 300SL.

Great Idea...
But i doubt the hieght of the side windows will be low enough to see the stuff...
Also it isn't easy to find a well maintained Sierra......

well that sounds pretty good too .. Sam imagine a sierra with a nice V6 or a V8 in it and arush gives u one hellofa body kit with gullwing windows, lowered considerably that is ... If yes then my sierra is up for grabs ..

I would still prefer a weirdas# conti with all the bling bling ... Im sure navin has had his share with the conti with transmission lines and all .. Navin what u say ???

Do-able cars IMHO...

With kickass paintjobs and bodywork: Small Car = Swift or Big Car = Octavia
(working time = one month)

With full body modifications, lowering, lotsa work: 207 or Sierra
(working time = three months or more)

I dont mind doing any car you decide upon

Mclaren, The conti wont allow Sam to show the innards.

Sam, this car is for public consumption remember we are also talking SPL when i know you would much prefer SQ. That is the big difference between us. You are in the business and have to produce stuff that will sell. I am not, so only have to satisfy myself. Ah the advantages of being DIY!

I think the gull wingy things look cheesy but they get attention and this is what we want with a show car!

Blinging the JBL swift - A TBHP adventure

After conferring with some pretty senior people at TBHP, the opinion is closed at a Maruti swift.

Dont be mad boys, the majority and seniority have both voted for the swift.
The "Out of the box" thinking will now happen with the Swift.

Now- the next step, to buy a blooming swift. Then, the look. So far we're approaching 18" wheels and black headlamps and a brand new body job.

So the poll is closed (moddies please note) but this thread is open to suggestions on "BLINGING THE JBL SWIFT"

Swift it is! Are you using yours Sam?
Black lower body, Top Orange with white JBL in the biggest letters it can handle.
Better PM Rehaan, Dippy, Rudra, and co for this. They are the artists.

I'd vote on a system that when the hatch is opened does not show any amps. Then press a button a cover slides or flips open and you see 2 Crown amps with caps etc... Aslo dont forget to include lighting as part of the design.

Get the rear doors to open in gull-wing style! That would be sick! Would also make it easier for people to peer inside.

Or reverse the hinges on the rear door a la old Fiat 1000 or the new RR Phantom

Problem with butterfly (or scissor) doors is that it leaves you with limited space to get in/out and to check out the equipment. Also, the speakers on the doors itself would not be visible.

Gullwing doors (like the 300SL gullwing) open like the rear hatch would, so you have no worries about doors getting in your way. However, you'd need some solid struts to keep the doors open with heavy speakers on them.

I LOVE IT

That way with the doors open, we can have the mids and highs firing from the top, down at the unsuspecting people.
What about feasability - Anyone?

Over to Arush! I'm pretty sure it can be done, as I've seen Civics and even euro hatchbacks with gullwings.

Couldn't find any pics, but this is what it would kinda look like:
