Re: ICE for my Honda City

Got the ANCH A/T yesterday....spoke to honda service people yesterday for the dash panel from 1.5 E MT model which has a double din plate and he told me sir its not possible as the rear defogger and ac buttons are different and behind the panel they have different clips with which the respective wires are attached to reduce noise due to vibration and running of the car, so i told him give me a panel and not attach the clips for defogger and ac switch so he said sir we cant do it as it will reflect in warranty claim... How have people changed stock ANHC stereos and has there been a warranty problem after that ?..

Re: ICE for my Honda City

Congrats on the purchase Yash....

For the facia adapter you can check out other honda showrooms..preferrably with the guys who install ICE at dealerships, they surely would have with them from someone who would have recently upgraded their systems.

Other possibility could be check with the places who install ICE outside or where you would get your ICE done, they would be able to arrange it for you.

thanks...
the problem is not procuring the dash but the dealer telling me warranty issues..or is he just trying to scare me because he cant get me the panel...coz i have seen people changing the stock anhc's system on a lot of threads here..

also the installer i went to initially, elegant, lajpat is quoting 4k for dash panel with the rear defogger and ac switch and the rest of the knobs and switches to be used from the existing panel...

Re: ICE for my Honda City

Hmm i am not sure about warranty, but since it requires movement of switches it might create issues with the dealers since they are known to nit prick on these issues. Better to confirm with them or check with other bhpians if any has done it and faced any issues with warranty.

Also the facia adapter should not cost this much as quoted in your previous post.

Re: ICE for my Honda City

so for the two amps i need i can get one from the us and have between the infinity kappa one and the infinity kappa four(because of small size and weight and massive price difference)...so along with that if i get mono from us then i was thinking of JBL GTo1004 from india and if i get the 4 channel from us then was thinking of RF r500.1 mono from india..
both indian amps in the range of 12k and so are the US ones...
i plan to run 2 subs in the future with the mono amp...
so which one should i get from us, and then which should i buy from here?
and with the 4 channel amp i plan to run a pair of comps (approx 10k for front) and a pair of coax(6-8k)...still have to take demos..

Re: ICE for my Honda City

was thinking of id12D4 V.3 and trying to get the specs for that, on woofersetc.com its says

Nominal Impedance (IMP) 2/8 ohms
DC Resistance (Re) 1.8/7.2 ohm
RMS Power Handling (Pwr) 50 to 400W RMS
Power: 100-400W RMS

Wanted to pair it with Rockford Fosgate T500-1bd or Infinity Kappa One.(Both available for approximately 12k from US)

Right now thinking of only one sub, but would want to add a second one preferably on the same amp. Comments ?

Heard the Rainbow SLC265 yesterday, liked them but out of my budget, then heard the SLG265 which were okaish and in my budget, will hear the Hertz ESK165 next. Which other ones in that range ?

Re: ICE for my Honda City

It would depend what sub you want to power, if looking at ID, think about IDQ..best sub from them IMO.

Couple of mono's which i can think are, since you can get them from USA they wont be that pricey i believe.

Alpine PDX 1.600 ; MRP-M1000 ; PDX M6

RF - T500-1bdcp ; T1000 1bdcp.

i would love the IDQ, but it goes over my budget !!

and the "cp" in the end for the rf amps, i assume its continuos power, but how is it different than the model without "cp" ?

the alpines are going a little above budget, but lets see ...and info on the kappa one ?

Re: ICE for my Honda City

Sorry for posting again, but saw this amp Kenwood kac9105d. Specifications look good and available in the US for 7k , sounds like a steal. Any comments /reviews ?

Re: ICE for my Honda City

so looking at the amp specs....
inf kappa one - 500w@4ohm, 800w@2ohm
alpine pdx m6 - 600w@4ohm,600w@2ohm
alpine mrp-m1000 - 600w@4ohm,1000w@2ohm
these amps are in my budget from US but currently want only one id 12v3d4 and maybe in future two, and the specs for id says 400w rms max, so will giving it more power harm the sub ?
