Infact the shop looks like a service centre. Never seen any car audio shop with such an setup. Kudos to Johnny.

After reading some bitter experiences with Power zone, I believe this is the only one left for all audio enthusiast in Chennai.

Their garage is pretty big, can house 6-7 cars at the same time.
A small titbit, assuming you are familiar with MGR (actor/politician), Johny had ICE'd his personal car. This car can still be found in MGR's memorial house.

Power Zone is also a good place to go for ICE, I've seen a few of their installs they've been good.

That's really a great news and increases the reputation on him. Eagerly waiting for my purchase to have his magic weaved on it. And I am sure, this hype doesnt disappoint me.

Re: ICE - Sound Works, Chennai (Royapettah)

I am not happy with the ICE upgrades that I did on my Manza at Jewajee but can't afford new equipment.

My current set up
1) Stock OE HU
2) Scoche 4 Channel high to low converter
3) Velocity Va475 4 channel amp powering
4) Velocity VC 542 front components
5) GT4 Series subs from my earlier cars
6) Stock rear speakers powered by the HU.

The issues:

1) Jewajee couldn't get the high level inputs in VA475 to work without it picking the engine whines thereby going for a high to low converter. The sound quality is not good as good as the one with high inputs
2) The cross overs & Hi-low converters are placed with just a 3m double side tape in the dual din slots of the HU causing it to rattle.
3) Radio reception is not as good as before (perhaps improper grounding).
4) The amp gain settings were done by trial and error.

Will Sound Works take up such a small work of reinstalling the whole thing to my satisfaction?

I'm not sure if they would take up this job, but you can always give Jonny / Deva a call and explain your requirement.

Re: ICE - Sound Works, Chennai (Royapettah)

My experience was very average with him. I went and spoke to him. He was primarily selling Rockford-Fosgate stuff. He even agreed to do an install for 25,000.

He was reluctant to share the model number of each component, so I did not install it with him. I wanted to know each part number and model, so that I could do some research on the specifications on the company website.

He might be very good at the install, but I did not get confidence when I spoke to him on the products.

Re: ICE - Sound Works, Chennai (Royapettah)

My experience was ok/average with him. Wanted to install Helix E62C.2 components (which I had procured separately). Left the car at 1:30 PM. Got back by 9:45 PM. Did a neat job. Only issue is, he installed the tweeters too low into the sail panel such that the tweeters were firing directly at the dash. Basic mistake . Have to get it corrected.

Of course they did try to encourage me to buy HU, mats, rear coaxial, sun films etc. But did not push me. More of a sales pitch.
