Re: Doorstep service for Mitsubishis - LRM Automobiles (Chennai) *Reviving an old thread*
I recently bought a Cedia and first thing on my mind was to get it fully serviced and inspected. While casually browsing through Gmaps I came across 2 choices.
1. Evolve Automotive in Guindy
2. LRM Motors in Madipakkam
After going through reviews on Google decided to try my luck with LRM and gave them a call. I was attended to by Mani(a brilliant mechanic) who quickly listened to my want and answered all my questions patiently. I got the quote for the full service via Whatsapp and it seemed very reasonable to me. LRM is a wholesaler of Motul lubricants and hence the cost of any oil is cheaper when you buy from them directly. They also deal in sale of spares.
I got the following work done on my Cedia: - Engine Oil drain & replace (Motul Synthetic)
- Oil filter replacement (Zip Filter)
- Air filter replacement (Zip Filter)
- Cabin AC Filter replacement (Mitsubishi OE)
- Gearbox oil drain & replace (Motul)
- Power Steering fluid drain and replace (Motul)
- Brake fluid bleed and replace (Motul)
- Coolant drain and replace (Motul)
- Radiator fan motor overhaul
- Valve Cover oil leak
- Water wash
2 days before the planned service my Cedia started overheating in traffic, I also noticed that the AC compressor was cutting off as soon as the car came to a stop and turning on only when the engine crossed 2k rpm. Worried I took the car to LRM and Mani immediately noticed the radiator fan was not running, he tapped it with a spanner and it started working. He told me the motor was gone and suggested I get it replaced.
The shocker was that OE Mitsubishi radiator fan motor assembly costs a bomb(more than 25-30K). I was dead sure I was in for a huge bill and was desperately trying to check for alternatives. Mani told me he will check the motor again during service and then let me know what can be done.
I dropped the car off at LRM on 27-Apr morning. On 28-Apr Mani called me and told he had got the radiator fan motor checked at a shop specialising in the same and only the coil had gone bad. He had also managed to source a replacement coil for 1850 bucks . I was relieved to hear this, a major issue with the cooling system was solved.
Next up he completed the service on my car and also sent me pictures and messages as and when he found any issue with the car. He was honest & upfront told me that whatever he suggested was not required immediately. Finally he gave the car a clean bill of health. On 29-Apr my Cedia was washed and I picked up the car around 5:30PM. The final bill was very nominal, especially the labour charges. I have driven close to 260kms post service and I must say he has done a great job.
This is definitely my go to garage now for my Mitsubishi.
