This BPCL pump on the same side as old Woodlands drive-in and few buildings after it, when coming from US-Consulate side seems to be good. For my usual 30litre fill, the car runs around 360kms before hitting the red-mark on fuel-gauge. With the last fill at this pump, I am at 380kms now and looks like it will easily go another ~30kms before hitting red-mark. I plan to try out a few iterations at this pump.

This pump is the closest to my home and the one I never go to - crooks, in a single word. You should have asked for the complaint-book and then seen a change in attitude in the supervisor. As I mentioned in another similar thread, if you have a doubt that you have been cheated, ask for the complaint-book. BTW, if you have the bill or credit-card slip for that filling, you could still go back to them to raise a complaint. It works, believe me.

Did 3 fillings at above petrol-pump on Cathedral road with results being quite encouraging as of now :

1) 400kms run on fill of 29.65litres (Rs2100) = FE of 13.49 kmpl
2) 425kms run on fill of 29.65litres (Rs2100) = FE of 14.33 kmpl
3) Filled in 30.25 litres (Rs2200) today - results would be known in 2weeks.

Even though this pump is a bit out of the way for me, I am sticking to it for now. With petrol prices increasing, every extra km got to the litre is valuable.

The Parveen Travels IOC pump at OMR gives me the same mileage as Shell. Looks to be a good pump with unadultrated fuel. This is the one just before Jeppiar college.

Shell never runs out of fuel as long as you are able to pay for it and digest it

I heard even they went dry this week

IMHO we can goto shell for petrol as it is only rs2 extra but diesel is 19rs extra

For the first time, I saw shell bunks run dry. Shell pallikaranai had no diesel boards from yestrday night till today morning. I remember another bhp'ian mentioning about shell chromepet running dry as well yesterday.

Last evening I waited in line for half an hour and filled petrol for my bike at Shell, Chromepet @ Rs 79.00. Diesel was also available.

I did a mileage analysis of the pumps around my place and IOC Woodlands pump on Radhakrishnan Salai always gave me the highest figure.

During the periods of Diesel shortage - they always seem to have stock.

I second that I always fill by car and bike at Woodlands bunk only.On occasions where I have had to fill elsewhere the mileage has been low and so is the quality and quantity of fuel
