Here is a PIC from OJES COACH Builder's website, Rajumon [Prithviraj] taking over the keys of the vehicle. But another contradictory information on the KeralaMVD portal about this caravan..
The RC of the vehicle is not issued by authority... Please Contact Your Concerned RT0 !!!!
Can anyone tell me the make and model the Chassis of this caravan? I posted this question on Facebook and got no positive replies...

re: PICS: Caravan/Motorhomes in India

Nice set up but can you register it as a private vehicle? Been thinking about it a lot and I think that an SML short wheel base chasis might be a better suited one than a traveller for a caravan. Does any one know of a site with floor plans and ideas about designing one?

Tempo Traveller would be the best platform to build a small touring motorhome.

For something smaller, i think Tata WInger might be suitable.

Wish there was a 4WD option on either of these vehicles.

re: PICS: Caravan/Motorhomes in India

Shortly Ashok Leyland will be launching STILE. I think STILE is the best vehicle to convert as small motor home. While googling I came across Nissan Evalia NV200 which was converted in to decent camper van for 4 members. Ashok Leyland has excellent service back up and STILE will be a best choice for conversion than Nissan Evalia.
I have uploaded some photos. This Nissan Evalia NV 200 based camper has rock n' roll bed setup, gas hob, wash basin, pop top roof, etc.

Great. Also with some creative ideas Ashok Leyland's popular "Dost" or TATA super Ace can be converted like this..

Camper van concept will catch up very soon. Our RTO should update them self, find a way to tax it. Allow it to grow. Lots of Industries will be benefited.

This one is built on an Eicher10.95 chassis. Similar one is owned by actors SureshGopi and Mammoty.

In Mumbai, all modified vehicles using truck chassis fall under the category of vanity vans, and RTO taxes them based upon psf area. Infact, RTO charges the driver's cabinet area at a different rate (much lesser) than the actually vanity area. So concept is there, and they are indeed taxing it.

Motor Homes in India

Hi,

Facebook (like always) keeps on thrusting adverts on users. But today, they managed to make me click on one of them.....

Feel Motor Home rents motor homes - yes, motor homes, with all the bells and whistles. Well, may not be of US standards, but they have made a beginning.

And guess what, they are based out of Pune

Here is the link http://www.feelmotorhome.co.in/

Excited to see baby steps towards this segment, although there may be a lot of debate on the business proposition.

Disclaimer: I am not involved neither have any commercial interests in this.
